I am registered under a second user id which so far has FB rating of 1. I have been outbid on an auction with one seller. Another seller contacted me through that auction saying that he has a similar item for sale and giving me the Item number. I believe this is auction interference even though the other item is not identical.

I do not intend to purchase anything from the second seller. I don't like the fact that he is taking advantage of a competitor's listings to solicit buyers. Should I report this or just let it go and is this auction interference? This person is a PS with a FB of 99.9%.

I don't think it's auction interference but it is commercial spam. I'd report it. If it bugged me enough, I might even be inclined to let the seller of the item I was bidding on know too and forward them the email.

That seller could report it to eBay as auction interference as they're trying to take away one of their potential customers.

i wouldn't consider that auction interference at all, and i don't know if i'd even consider it wrong by any other standard...the second seller didn't really do anything wrong (unless its proven he did in fact bid on the other item you were bidding on, which would be auction interference then), but otherwise, i just think its competitive advertising, which all businesses do..whether on ebay or out in the real world...he's finding customers who are interested in the same thing he sells and is marketing his product to them...fair marketing method i think...
..just my opinion...

eBay considers it spam - especially since it is sent through the eBay EFS.

I have the book.. bought it after selling for 9 months... Love all the REALLY helpful information.. I think I will learn new things every time I take a peek at it.. it sure has alot of helpful information!!
