(rose-dee has told me that you guys won't like me anymore if I tell the truth.)
It's those freaking sandals that drive me nuts... avec ou sans chausettes! I still have my winter boots parked by the back door.
Wait until all those rhododendrons and camellias start wilting and turning brown by early August and the City won't let you water your lawn. After 20 years in Victoria, I've seen it all. Our water bills were frequently over $500 during summer when we were desperately trying to keep our garden and fruit trees from perishing in the heat. Here in NS we have water coming out of everywhere.
Actually, I think the real concern on Vancouver Island this summer, after such a dry, warm winter, will be forest fires. You should probably hope that the June rains will be heavier than usual. The other problem with the trend to warmer, drier winters on the Island has been that the beautiful old cedars are dying off. They were adapted for millenia to a rainforest climate, and things have changed substantially in the past few decades.
