I clicked on it by accident as a seller.

Unfortunately, no. There is no way to opt out. You can disable it on each listing if you don't want to use it. The eBay documentation says that there "should" be a way to opt out, but in practice, there isn't. I have a question in to eBay staff trying to find out if this is a glitch, or if it was intended.

Since your items are not located in the USA, you're not even eligible to use GSP. The GSP documentation says they will reject any items that are sent to the shipping center from outside the USA.

Presumably you must be listing on eBay.com, since that's the only website where GSP is available. You might want to consider listing on eBay.ca instead, to avoid the hassle, You can still choose to listing in US$ if you prefer.

I managed to turn down my "invitation" to the GSP, but read that the "Global Edit" feature may help to opt out.

Global Edit won't let you opt-out as such, but you can use it to revise your listings and remove the GSP from a bunch of listings all at once. No word on whether you can remove GSP if the listing already has bids (normally, you can't revise at that point, you can only add more text or photos to the description). Then you have to be careful that you don't enable GSP on your future listings.

Raphael (eBay Blue) looked into it, and apparently that is what they meant when they said you would be able to "opt out". Just removing GSP from your listings is not "opting out" by any definition, but that's all that sellers can do.

"(Q from lacemaker3/pocomocomputingWhy isn't there a way to opt out of the GSP completely, as the announcement and documentation say should be possible? Is this a glitch, and if so, when will it be fixed?

A: This is not a but, it's how the opt-in was designed. We brought this to the attention of the GSP team, their response wats thet for now, the way to opt out of GSP is at the listing level, where the GSP box needs to be unticked if a US seller prefers not to use the program on that item."
