Different Size Boxes?

Hello, I'm thinking of selling on eBay, When providing shipping discounts in the shopping cart is there a way to get eBay to automatically bump the shipping up to a bigger box size when they buy a certain amount of stuff? I'm worried that someone will come along and buy 101 items and only pay the shipping for a small box when there is no way I can fit that in there.

Thanks in advance!

If you put a shipping charge on each listing, then the buyer will be charged that shipping charge for each purchase.

IE- you buy 10 items. Each has a shipping charge of $1. You will be charged $10 for shipping the 10 items.

The problem is actually the opposite.

The buyer will probably want and expect you to combine and discount shipping.

So those 10 items would ship for , I dunno, $5 in a single box?

You can adjust the shipping charge before the buyer pays. If she pays before you have a chance to adjust (yes, that happens a lot!) then you can use Paypal to refund the overpayment.

Just be sure you don't accidentally allow the buyer to adjust shipping on your invoices. This will not go well.

No. If you are using calculated shipping the price will up if the weight is heavier but not the box size. Some services such as expedited are based on dimensional weights, not actual weight so although a heavier weight may not make much difference in the price, bigger box can make quite the difference. But honestly, unless you are selling something for cheap and it is very popular, it's unlikely that you are going to sell more than a couple to one person.

If you are using flat rate shipping you can set up different categories so that if 2 items of category A are purchased, shipping goes up by $x for each extra item ordered.

Shipping has a huge learning curve so before worrying about multiples, it is best to focus on knowing the difference services available and which is better for your particular products.

There is no way for a buyer to change amounts of the invoice. That changed at least a couple of years ago.
