Does anyone else think the pop up telling me how many people have viewed an item is super irritating

Not me.  I used to be happy to see someone watching my item.  Now it's ho-hum until the item sells.  Irritating are the ad's I get from Ebay telling me what I might like to buy.

It takes more than that to get me super irritated!  But first time I saw it.......I kind of "fell into" it for a few seconds, in that it's a very obvious way for eBay to get your attention and maybe think OMG, I like it and look how many people like it too!!  So yes, it does catch my attention as a buyer, but I'm not impulsive like that. For an impulse buyers though, I definitely see how it will generate more sales

I find the PoP-uPs to be SUPER IRRITATING.

I wish they would get rid of them!!!

I don't like them very much either as a potential buyer. With that said, I can understand why eBay put them there.

The one I'd like to lose is the "Stuff that might interest you" which shows me baby clothes and Size Small Betsey Johnson dresses.  Of all the stuff I'v looked at in the past few months, these are the least interesting.

Show me shoe paint! Cowboy Bebop videos! Novels from the Whedonverse! Graphic novels about The Guild! Dooney and Burke purses!

Or just let me Block the stuff that doesn't interest me. Pretty please?

Hi 'femmefan' -- I had a bit of a hard time finding everybody again on these boards.  Can't stay long today but...

YES, those pop-ups showing how many others are/have watched an item are not only irritating, but, I would add, insulting to the average or better intelligence.  Essentially they are trading on the herd mentality -- OMG, someone else is watching this, yikes, better buy it right away!  This may help sellers in the short run, but I think it will put off buyers in the long term. 

It reminds me of sales days at Honest Ed's in T.O. so many decades ago.  People would suddenly see someone head for a bin, and there would be an almost screaming stampede to see what it was they found.  Which is exactly why they had big messy bins, rather than nice neat shelves.  Same psychological ploy.
