Error Code 240

I use GarageSale software to manage my listings and have had no problems using this title several times before :

"PROOFLIKE 1999 MILLENNIUM QUARTER - October A Tribute To First Nations - UNC"

in the  "Coins & Paper Money > Coins: Canada > Twenty-Five Cents " category.

However last night i ran into an unusual situation that still persists today.

When i try to "Verify" the auction listing it passes verification but when i try to upload the listing to Ebay ,

i get an Error Code 240 , which says :

Replica and Reproduction Coins
Replica or reproduction coins are not permitted to be listed. See our Coins Policy for more information. Items that violate our policy, including replica coins, will be removed.

{e46495-656960x}

This is very strange because normally i get this error if i use certain key words like replica or reproduction etc.

Even stranger still is how i was able to fix the problem, i changed the listing title to :

"PROOFLIKE 1999 MILLENNIUM QUARTER - OCTOBER - UNC"

And so it seems, that Ebay does not want me to use the term FIRST NATIONS when listing items.

Actually, listing native aboriginal items usually generates another type of warning, so it seems the Ebay error flag system is confused.

Since its all automated, there is no one to talk to about this, i thought i would post here perhaps get a faster response?

The coin is titled "A Tribute To First Nations". Thats the name given to it by the Royal Canadian Mint.

Also, customers searching for these key words will have trouble finding this coin because i am not allowed to list its proper title in the description.

I have included a screenshot , i hope this helps explain things.

If someone from Ebay could just fix the problem, that would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Best Regards,

STUFFNCOINS

You could try:

PROOFLIKE 1999 MILLENNIUM QUARTER - October A Tribute To FirstNations - UNC

-..-

I have run into similar eBay automated bot restrictions before:

(1) Described a coin (in the listing body, not the title) as having "crossed Elephant tusks" and was told by the automated bot that selling Ivory was restricted -- For a metal coin listed in International coins. Settled for E. tusks to describe the coin.

(2) Movie title that I included some of the actor names for searching -- was told selling a high end branded purse was restricted. The actor had his name long before there was a brand selling overpriced purses.

-..-

Okay great! Thanks for your reply, but i see other listings that contain the phrase "First Nations" items on Ebay, so whats the issue?

Im more concerned with getting to the bottom of this rather than finding a work around.

I dont find anything offensive with the term "First Nations" and there is nothing in the title to indicate it is a replica - so whats up?

Have you tried listing it directly on eBay using the advanced sell your item form?  Do you get the same message?  Is there any way to go ahead and list it in spite of the warning?  I have had a similar warning for the same term (but not in coins category) and was able to go ahead and list with the warning.

What version of GarageSale are you using?  Some are no longer supported.

Okay THANKS GUYS for all your help! After reading all of your suggestions :

1) i restarted my computer and made sure that GarageSale was up to date with the latest version, still no luck

2) i did not try to revise the auction manually on the eBay website because it is too time consuming. But from reading Pierres link it looks like that is definitely a solution.

3) i removed the words "A Tribute To" and included the "First Nations" description which was the key phrase i wanted to keep and BINGO! it worked!

The auction title now reads "PROOFLIKE 1999 MILLENNIUM QUARTER - October First Nations - UNC"

I'll settle for that.
