I'm expecting a return from a buyer in the US in about 1 week - value of $85.00. I was wondering what I might expect from Canada Customs. Will they charge me duty and tax on this, and if so how do I get my money back? Or is there something I have to do to avoid paying?
I've been selling almost 10 years on ebay, but this is a new situation for me, I think I've only had 2 other returns in all that time, and they were from Canada.
Thanks,
Debbie

It is possible that it will just slide through the postal system without charge.
Or the buyer may have been smart enough to mark it as "returned merchandise."
If you are charged you can get your money back by contacting CBSA at the number on the invoice. You will need the original eBay invoice from you to the seller showing that the item was sold to the buyer and is being returned.
Copies of the discussion that led to the return may be useful.
However, I'm sure you realize that this is your problem and not your buyer's. She in turn has to deal with the US customs people, you don't.
Refund promptly on return.
And I hope it never happens again. Such a pain. Sigh.

I recently had a return. They marked as a gift. LOL
Hopefully all works out for you 🙂
