HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU SPEND ON EBAY?

I'm curious to hear how much time people spend on their eBay businesses. I am constantly trying to limit my time spent to 4 hours a day (some days it's not easy, especially now as we get closer to X-mas).

Although I do get limited help with the books, everything else is done by me, so I find it sometimes challenging in my "hobby" business, to stick to my 4 hour a day "goal". (Don't get me wrong, it is still enjoyable, and I do still have fun with it, and I look forward to continuing with it when I retire in a few years).

Now, I do understand that many sellers use eBay's selling platform as a full time business, which is great, and I was further intrigued today by another seller, Pierrelebel, one of many sellers whose words of advice and experience I always respect and learn from, who said in another thread today "... and some of us are running a full time mail order business, typically spending 60 hours a week at it..." so I got to wondering, how much time do other people put into their eBay businesses a day?

I was spending probably 60 hours a week as well in here. I have gone back to work now full-time so I'm in here about 4-6 hours after work and 12 hours on my days off. My husband and daughter are always after me to not spend so much time in here. So then I cut back. But I'm not using all of that time to sell, probably a couple of hours is spent buying. I now have access to wholesalers but I can normally find what I want in here cheaper and released sooner in the US than in Canada.

My daughter bought me a table and put her lap top on it in the living room so I can at least be in the same room as them.

But if I was honest, I probably am wasting time in here. I have tons of things to list, but I hate listing. So I do everything in here to avoid it. I have even invested in using Blackthorne which is an awesome program, but at times confusing to me, so I put the listings off again...lol.

So, I guess I better get going on those listings. I should try to do 2 hours a day until I'm caught up. I'll see how that plan goes...lol.

The real question isn't how much time you spend on eBay, but rather how much time one wastes whining in here instead of being productive.

Lets see, in the past 30 days I have spent 30 minutes listing and shipping on eBay, and 90 minutes slogging through the same old "eBay is ruining my business with DSR threads" every week.

The other 718 hours has been spent driving thousands of kilometers looking for gas that's 3 cents a litre less. :_|

I never worked this much or so many hours in my life. Was only planning to do it four hours a day. LOL!!!!!!!

60 hours easily. I keep sourcing the same product and thought that it would get easier with time, but the market keeps changing and eBay keeps making us revise all our listings. Every year I have to take some time off because I burn myself out.

I attend university full time,teach an evening Adult ESL class two evenings per (English as a Second Language)and share the Ebay duties with my brother.What day is it?
Easy 60-75 hrs per week at a min between the 2 of us.
Helps pay the tuition and then some. Beats having a real job.
Through all the change,surprises, and ups and downs etc We're still having a ball.
As I'm sure you know you meet some great people throughout the world each and every day.

Wife and I spend about 25 hours a week...would do more, but don't have the hours. Trying to hire one of our kids to help out...might be the solution...might just be more headaches, lol!

I work a full-time job for 40+ hours a week jumping shifts (evening and mornings) and get on here whenever I can. I may spend 10-15 hours a week, but more than likely actually log on for another 15+ hours a week comparing ourselves to others in the marketplace to make sure we stay competitive. It's almost like a full-time job itself as well.

* As a side point to what I wrote above, dealing hockey cards, I actually spend about as much time scanning the items as I do listing them as well which takes time up that isn't counted as being on 'EBay'.
