I go an email from eBay about an unpaid item, but I didn't recall I purchase this item.

I got an email from eBay that they open an unpaid item case. If I don't pay this Friday I might lose my account. However, I don' t recall I purchase this item and I paid for every item I purchase from eBay so far. I did contact the seller, and he just said eBay will automatically close the case on Friday. I just don't want to lose my account because of something I didn't do.

Hi homerhula.. Unless the account has been hacked , someone with access had to make the purchase.

If seller is using Unpaid Assistant  yes, eBay will close but you will receive an unpaid strike. 2 of those and you are effectively shut out for 12 months as most sellers block 2.

Seller can cancel the transaction if they are willing..

Have 4 days to pay or will close.

I don't see anything in your history. Is it an expensive item.

PS ..eBay will not suspend over 1 strike but  should be avoided. It is also true that one cannot always rely on the seller to do what they may say.

Log into your "Purchase History"

If the item appears in your purchase history then you bought it if it doesn't appear you didn't.

The eMail could be a spoof looking like it is from eBay when it isn't.

It could be someone trying to harvest your paypal and or eBay log in information.

Do not click on any links in the eMail.

If you want to find out if the email really was from eBay, send it, with full headers, to spoof@ebay.com.

Would seem to indicate it is for real.

If you have an open case in the resolution center of your myebay, its legit.
