I made an offer on an item. On the page to review the offer, there is an option to "buy it l now" if you don't want to wait. I decided to buy it now instead of waiting to see if the offer would be accepted.  I assumed that buying it now would cancel the offer as that the buyer is basically increasing their offer to FULL price.

I bought and paid for the item but then notice that the offer was still pending.  This makes it looks like I might have to end up buying it again from the same seller.

I tried to cancel the offer, since I already paid full price to the seller, but there is no valid reason to cancel the offer. It only had three reasons -- none of them matched the reason of ALREADY PAID FULL PRICE FOR IT.

This seems like a bug in the ebay system.  The seller was not at fault. The Ebay system can result in you having to buy the same item again from the same seller through this offer/buy now mechanism.

That's an odd one. You didn't confirm an offer. would be interesting to know if anything shows on seller's end. Offers expire in 48 hours.
