I won an auction on Dec 19th, paid with PP the same day, and didn't receive an 'item shipped' notification until Dec 29th.
The seller left PFB on the 19th, but apparently didn't ship it out until the 29th. (tracking # indicates the same).
I never leave NFB for sellers, but am wondering if I should ask the seller why the item wasn't sent for ten days after his payment was received. Opinions?

Haven't received it yet. I'm not in a panick or anything, but it's just the principle. As a seller, I will often ship the same day I receive payment. I can understand a few days....but ten? Assuming he just didn't want to be bothered until after the holidays.

Wait until you have received the item to think about feedback,
It is possible the item was shipped a week earlier (Dec 20/21) and only the shipping notification was delayed by a week.
Even with positive feedback, you do not have to give DSR of "5" on shipping time and/or communication if there was a problem.
Be fair and honest.

umm..... there was a little thing called Christmas in there. Then add in weekends.
Rather than assume he didn't want to be bothered, assume that it was packaged and ready to go but then in the rush for xmas, it was mistakenly forgotten and then shipped and seller was embarrassed to contact you.
Once you are happy with your purchase and have received it, leave +ive FB, 5 stars and fuhgedaboudit.
Does it really matter to you? Does it really cause you pain or consternation? If not, don't worry.
just IMHO.

Be fair and honest.
I wouldn't be fair and honest. Just leave 5 stars and +ive FB if you are ultimately happy with your purchase, including not worrying about shipping time, unless it's a time sensitive device.
There are plenty of bad sellers you can leave negs for and plenty of bad buyers that will leave an unjustified neg to this buyer. We all make mistakes, and by giving this person a mulligan, it will help for the day they get undeserved neg FB.

Just ask him why the 10 day delay in shipping it. Who knew what happened to this seller, sudden death or whatever.

As a seller, I will often ship the same day I receive payment.
Good for you. But I don't think you should hold that standard of practice to all sellers...
For me, I could only mail small letters by the next day when I leave home because I only have superbox in the neighbourhood, which only fits letters. There is no big parcel shipping boxes within 10 minutes walking distance, and I don't pass by one on my way to work/school either. I put 5 days handling time on my listings because I make my post office trips weekly.
Having said that, 10 days is a bit long, but do take weekend and x'mas into account. Like another poster said, it's really 4 business days. The post office in their neighbourhood might not be open, and perhaps they have day time work that overlaps with post office hours? How many business days handling time did that listing says? If they listed 1 day and shipped a week later, then yeah, it's outrageous, but if they listed 1 week handling time... then you already agreed to it when you made the purchase.
