Need some help, can't find any of my stuff on google

I have found early this month that my store and fixed items haven't had as much exposure as in the past.

So I thought I would do a few tests.

I picked one of my titles and copied it directly into the google search....normally I would find my items on the 1st or 2nd page.

Nothing shows up at all.

If it wasn't for my website, nothing would not show.

I decided to just put in one word and see what happened, well I turned up on page 20 and 22.

No wonder I haven't got the traffic.

Can anyone give me some ideas on how to get my ebay store back into the 1st and 2nd page of a search, without costing me an arm or leg.

I find that it is pretty bad when Craigslist (which is free) is found on those pages instead.

Do you list on .ca or .com?

Do you list your items as 30-day BIN whilst adding a store category or do you do an actual store listing?

Did you switch from GTC to 30-day? Or changed the titles recently? It takes time for google to pick results. I recently did a global change to my listings and most of them are less 2 weeks old and I only found some showing on Google.

30 day fixed priced BIN and store listings

I have been slowly switching to 30-day, but most of my listings haven't changed in months.

Thanks guys

A few months ago, eBay seemed to have changed their .ca feeds to "CAD" tags, which Google Base will reject.

I downloaded the feed and bulk edited to "USD" but the feed still failed because eBay also converted the USD pricing to CAD. When GB compared the feed pricing to the actual ones in the listings, the feed again failed.

After that, I gave up. For us it's now a moot point as we no longer have true store listings - everything is in 30-day BIN format, except the auctions of course.

There are other ways to get indexed in Google and they seem to work well for us. About 4% of our traffic is generated from Google.

Tried the 30 day listings, with no difference in sales from GTC, and personally, I must say- what a pain to manually baby sit and relist each item. I find that using mainly the GTC store items (plus a few auctions once in a while and a few 30 day listings to diversify and bring in more traffic) work just fine, and Google seems to find my stuff with no problem.

I was going to switch over to mainly 30 day, but the time it takes to do that negates any benefit for me and just creates more time consumed after the 30 days to have to manually relist again. I figure if it ain't broke, don't fix it! (I've said it before, though- it does depend on what you're selling, and everyone is different in their approach).

Axe,

There is no difference in the relisting procedure for stores and BIN. In both cases you can choose to automate or do it manually.

The bonus when listing BIN is that you can have the listing show in up to 2 store categories at no extra cost.

If you look at our store you will see it well-stocked. However, we have no actual store listings per se; they are all BIN (the 30-day, 35 cent deal).

Yes, BIN now costs a bit more but the increase in sales justifies it - in our case anyhow.

It doesn't take much to confuse me, believe me!! - But when I listed some items in the 30 day format instead of GTC (both formats gave me two two store categories to put each item in), I had to manually watch and see when they ended and then relist each one, one at a time.
Confused...

Actually, you get end of listing notifications via email - that is my trigger to act.

If you look at your "selling" page, each listing should have "Assign automation rule" in the pull-down menu on the right. I subscribe to basic "selling manager" and perhaps that gives one this feature. Also, you might be able to bulk assign a rule.

The reason I don't automate this is inventory control. Every time something relists, I need to adjust my inventory.

Also, if we have 10 of an item, 5 sell in 30 days, the listing automatically renews (10 items again) and and more than 5 sell before I catch it, I have some explaining to do.

The way I do it, I have control. Given, sometimes items are "out of stock" overnight before I get to relist but, for me, that is lesser of evils.
