Hello, I am having a huge problem right now and this gives me a big headache.
Whenever I click "print shipping label" on ebay on a sold listing, eBay will always redirects me to the paypal summary page on my account and I can't even get to the page to print the shipping label.
I tried using different browsers, deleting cookies, etc and it still does the same thing. I don't get it!
Any help with the matter is MUCH MUCH MUCH appreciated.
Thank You.

This is supposed to happen. Paypal is where you print your shipping labels. That is, assuming you were paid with paypal and you want to use Canada Post to purhcase an online label. You will also see Pitney Bowes involved (another company that partners for the printing of labels) reflected in the process to print your shipping labels. Find your buyer's transaction in the details on your paypal summary page and then click 'print shipping label' and follow the remainder of the instructions. There will be extra steps if your buyer is international. Do NOT ship via surface/ground overseas. It will take way too long.
If you are merely looking for the buyer's address to slap on an envelope, there are other places to find that. You don't have to 'print shipping label' with paypal but paypal shipping offers a speedier service and discounted rates through Canada Post.
One more thing: Canada Post has scheduled a shut-down this weekend. The ability to print shipping labels is unknown. If you experience a delay, contact your buyer to let them know things will be back on track come Monday morning. You will see this information outlined on the Canada Post website.

No, MJ, this happened to me a couple weeks ago. It kept sending me to my summary page at PP and no way from no way would it let me print a label. Did not matter what link I used,
I went to a different computer and I was able to do things normally. Went back to the first computer and I went in this perpetual circle. A couple days later all was fine.
MJ, the OP is not getting to the pages you are describing. This happened to me and was driving me insane.

First thing first: WELCOME to eBay. As a new seller you will find the learning curve rather steep. Do not worry about it too much. Take one step at the time and learn in the process.
"Whenever I click "print shipping label" on ebay "
Why do you want to print a label?
Do you want to buy postage online with that label with funds coming from your PayPal account?
Have you received payment from the buyer? Do you have money in your PayPal account?
Are you familiar with the 21 day hold on your money as a new seller:
Here is how it works: http://pages.ebay.ca/help/pay/payment_hold.html

"I am assuming.. "
You know what "assume" means, don't you?

Your buyer has paid through Paypal? If they haven't, then you can't print a label through Paypal.
I don't normally click my labels from an ebay link, I sign into paypal and print them from there. From the Paypal activity or the summary page I can always see a print label shipping link. You don't see that? What if you click on that Paypal transaction, there should be a print shipping link there?

Oh yeah. Why do you think I chose that word?

Until the Original Poster returns, we can't know now. I didn't think of that odd 'endless loop' phenomenon when I first replied. I too know what you mean. When I happened to me, I think I quit the browser and swore a little, restarted the computer while hopping on one foot in a semicircular, counter-clockwise fashion, kicking things as I go, and it was back to normal when I returned. Works like a charm every time.

I did that, on the stairs. Film at 11. It wasn't pretty 'cause I dance like a white guy. Well, i am an old white guy and we don't do jiggy.

Yes, the buyer paid with paypal. Paypal had sent me an email for the confirmation of payment.
Can you list the step by step process of how you print out your label on paypal? Because I haven't seen the print label shipping link on my summary page as far as I know, or I might be doing something wrong.
I googled and read up many stuff but I haven't found a solution to my problem...
Things I tried:
1) Deleting cookies, browse history etc
2) restarting computer
3) Trying a different browser...chrome, IE
4) Trying login on different computer
5) change email address so my paypal email and ebay email would be the same
I emailed paypal about this issue, and hope they can help
But as far as I am concerned nothing helped.
I was forced to ship the item at the counter, it was $2 more expensive but I have to do it or else i'll be late on shipping...

I go: My eBay ca ---> sold ---> print shipping label (link is on the right)
Do not email PP, phone them. They are very easy to talk to.
When it did this to me, I was on my new computer with Windows 8. I only had IE on that 'puter and she wanted me to try a different browser, so, I went downstairs to my old 'puter that is running Windows 7, and it worked.
Same as you, Friday and my back was to the wall. By Monday, all was working on all 'puters.

Normally when you choose "Print Shipping Label" from either the drop-down box associated with the sold item, or from the Sales Record, you should be taken directly to the Paypal label screen if your buyer paid through Paypal.
However, I have had trouble with this pathway working properly in the past. Two things might be involved here:
- Temporary glitch between eBay and Paypal (which, as 'Mr. Elmwood' describes, can happen);
- Browser type
If you've tried switching to a different browser and still can't get to the Paypal labels screen, go to your Paypal "Summary" page, click on the buyer's name shown for the sale. The new version, "short form" screen will pop up. Near the bottom right of that screen you'll see a link that says "View details on Classic site". Click to see all the transaction details. At or near the bottom is a button "Print shipping label". Click and this should take you to the Paypal shipping label screen.
In case you haven't used Paypal in a while, they've completely revamped the site and things are not where they used to be in the Summary. This threw me off when it first appeared. As mentioned, you now have to go down a level to get to the shipping label link.
If none of the above applies to your situation, I'd call Paypal directly and see if they can help you. They're usually fairly competent at customer service. Do remember that Canada Post is down all this weekend, and it's possible that could affect Paypal labels -- I'm not sure anyone knows for certain yet.

Really? Odd.
When I sign into Paypal, the summary page or activity page shows each transaction with a print shipping label next to each transaction that hasn't been sent out yet. Or, on that same page I can click on the transaction, scroll down and see more info about the transaction as well as another print shipping label link and a print packing slip link.
I haven't ever had to go to the classic link to print a label.

and in this situation, clicking that link takes you right back to the page you are on, perpetual loop. Get to the second one, click it, and it takes you back to the summary page, perpetual loop. It will not take you to the PP Shipping page, no way, no how, no nothing. Been there.

Was it a Windows 10 issue? Do we know what caused your phenomenon? I run Safari on a Mac yet I had the same thing as you happen at least once only to clear up on its own. This gentleman is also experiencing the same problem....
Did the Original Poster get the matter resolved? He had to go to the postal counter, right? He probably isn't using Sales Manager but the 'my ebay: Sold' page that I don't look at anymore. There won't be a drop-down, I forgot. Just a button.

I have no idea why that happens to you as I use that link to print my labels all the time.
hmmm...One real difference that I've noticed about the 'new' paypal look vs the old one is that when I click on that print shipping link a new page opens up so there are now two pages open...the summary page and the label page. My browser is set up to automatically take me to a new link when it opens one up so I am automatically taken to the label page. Is it possible that your shipping label page is coming up as a second page but you haven't noticed it? If not, you could try changing your browser so that it does go to a new link when one is opened and see if that helps. In Firefox you can go do that in Tools at the top of the page and then options. I'm not sure how to do it in IE.
Just a suggestion. Poco might have a better idea of why you are having that problem.
08-22-2015 03:23 PM
It looks like the other seller just started having that problem...it doesn't seem to be happening just because of the new Paypal set up but mine is still working fine.
I just glanced at the windows 10/printing labels issues a few days ago but it seems to me that the main problem there was that the label was printing to a queue rather than to the printer. But I didn't really pay too much attention to those threads so I might have missed a few things.

Funny, today when I just tried it as you suggest, I got to the Paypal shipping screen. However, at other times I had the same problem as 'mr. elmwood' (and presumably the OP as well). So I've been going to the Classic Site ever since, and that link always works reliably.
My browser has been the same for months, so I don't think that's the problem. Could it be that the Classic Site is more stable than the new format?

I was on Windows 8 on my upstairs 'puter. IE. Went downstairs to use FF with "7". Worked on FF on 7.
Don't remember exactly as I was not expecting the Spanish Inquisition on this. I think I downloaded FF on the upstairs 'puter and it still would not work.
This was all on a Friday, I think. By Monday the upstairs 'puter was working fine.
