QUESTION

No.

Because IDs are masked many new members ask this question.

Bidding on your own listing is not possible. It is possible to set up a 'shilling' account but these are easily spotted.

First- just as all the other bidders you see have masked IDs that look like *s...s*, your ID looks like that to everyone except your self and the seller.

Second- sellers pay substantial fees to use eBay. If they 'buy' their own product, they owe upwards of 20% of the winning payment to eBay and Paypal, so it makes no sense to pay out NOT to sell an item.

Third- most bids come in the last few hours  of the auction. Some bidders use 'sniping' services to make bids in the last few seconds of an auction.

And most importantly-- it is not the last bid that wins, it is the highest bid.

So.

Bid once.

Bid your maximum, don't nibble.

And some say, bid late.

And if someone wins by bidding more than you, he was a sucker for paying so much, right?
