First thing you do is contact the seller and see what they propose to do.

Usually the seller will offer to refund the original cost either when you return the item or when he is satisfied that it is not as described.

If you return the item use a Delivery Confirmed service* like Expedited Parcel or Tracked Parcel. Print the label through Paypal-- you may get a discount from PO counter prices.

Some seller will be satisfied with a clear picture of the damaged piece.

If the seller refuses to refund, you can start a Paypal dispute. You will be required to prove delivery as above.

But first, contact the seller.

After the refund, you can leave feedback. You can also leave anonymous Ratings on the transaction. The latter are more important than feedback to sellers.

*If the seller is in Canada, Regular Parcel is also DC.

Oh yeah. If you are returning the tripod across the border, you can get the duty and sales tax refunded. The phone number for this is on the back of the invoice for the duty and tax.

You will not get a refund on duty/brokerage fees.

None of these fees are the responsibility of the seller.
