Seeing as FB is no longer relevant....

- seller's can not leave an accurate assessment of the transaction
- we can not even leave a fb with a truthful comment if it isn't glowing positive
- neutrals = negs...but ebay isn't telling buyers that as loudly as they are informing them of their omnipotence
- ebay/PayPal is actually sending buyers who leave a neg or file a chargeback coupons for discounts on their next ebay purchase...just wait until that becomes more commonly known
- at the same time ebay refuses to remove false negs when a buyer is PROVEN to be fraudulent by PayPal

Let's face it...FB is rather irrelevant now.

eBay claimed that sellers were using it as a weapon to intimidate buyers. While I believe this to be true in a very small percentage of cases...I don't think it had much of an impact. When was the last time you barred a buyer with overall decent FB from buying your item due to a retaliatory neg they received from another seller? I'd venture to guess that most of you saw right through that sort of thing.

Now, however, buyers have total control. While I'm not worried about the decent, regular buyer, I am concerned about the rest. At least 50% of the negative fb I have received in my time on ebay has been from "new" buyers who attempted to extort or defraud. While PayPal was reasonably supportive in these situations, ebay did nothing to protect me when these buyers left false negatives. Subsequently, these buyers simply moved on to a new id.

eBay claims that they are going to protect us from abusive buyers who leave excessive negs...yet the last time I received a neg from one of these obviously seasoned scammers, ebay reps refused to even check to see if he has been involved in the same behavior under different ids...something that a PayPal rep confirmed.

Sooooo......

Given that this system can no longer be counted on as a true representation of the integrity of either the buyer or the seller I have decided to change my use of it. I'm not going to boycott it...I'll just try to use it to my advantage. From here on out EVERY buyer will receive an automated positive immediately upon payment. This positive will state:

5 STAR BUYER! Please enjoy your 5 STAR PRODUCT and SERVICE from WHO'S CLOSET!

Will sending out these automatic positives be accurate? Sometimes yes...sometimes no. But I figure they will be accurate about as often as my FB is from here on out.

As I said, the FB system is no longer accurate or relevant so I will not be treating it as such.

Also just think in this way.

You live in a world where everyone has gun except you.
They can shoot you for no reason, but you cannot fight back.

After shot, what you can do is still keep quit or give you kiiller a smile.

Well spoken,....the writing has been on the wall since the changes were first announced.

It sure would be nice to post something positive on here for a change. Too bad sellers continue to get the short end of the stick with every new ebay announcement.
