Well around a month ago I've shipped a coin to a buyer of mine which cost her around $110, and $15 to ship.
Although the Canada Post workers told me they're unable to find the coin. What do I do?
This is the first time I'm facing an issue such as this. 😐

If you paid with Paypal then you should be able to file an item not received claim through them.

I opt out of insurance when possible; absolutely no value to me ( or seller).
It's also been my experience over many years on eBay, both as a buyer and as a seller, that not one parcel has ever actually been lost, and I expect most experienced eBay users would say the same.
However, I have a different view on insurance. In my opinion, the value of insurance really depends on which side of the transaction you're on.
For a buyer, I would agree that insurance is meaningless, since with eBay's Money Back Guarantee, the buyer will be refunded if an item either doesn't arrive, or arrives broken or defective. For the seller though, insuring a valuable item is peace of mind in the event the item is lost, stolen or damaged in transit (or a buyer claims it as such, whether legitimate or not), and the seller is obliged -- by the MBG or otherwise -- to provide a full refund to the buyer. In that case the seller has a good chance of at least recouping the cost of the item, if not the shipping costs.
The higher services through Canada Post (Expedited, Xpresspost and I believe also Tracked Packet) include a reasonable amount of basic insurance anyway, and the extra couple of dollars on insuring a valuable item are in my view worth it. I also sometimes use 3rd party insurance, which can be even more reasonably priced.

The package is probably all full of dust in some corner of the postal outlet
Did you go to the local Postal Outlet and ask?
Did you go to the local Post Office and ask?
Most of what postal clerks have to do is pretty boring. If you ask politely it is amazing what people will do for you, if only to relieve the tedium.
Also.
This thread is two years old.
It is better to start your own question than to attach your problem to a zombie thread.

Sorry to hear about this. It may still show up though. I had an item that took 5 weeks to arrive once. I would in the future were I you register at Canada post for a card so you can get Expedited Parcel service which costs about the same as regular parcel but has included insurance. I am not sure if coins are on the list of excluded items for insurance purposes though.

Ahhh...the coin limit is $500 assuming an insurable service is used

Thanks, mate, but for the time gone and all the fruitless inquires I made to no avail, I will likely never receive it seeing how CP even killed off what was left of the tracking to their depot thus the 'lost' shipment is technically off the books and the case is closed.
Thankfully the business sent out a replacement order and, thankfully again, I received it without incident.
I'm presuming some CP employee will put my lost items to good use. hahaha
I will definitely heed your helpful advice next time 'round.

Hi Tom,
I am experiencing the exact same issue and was wondering if you could give me the senior manager's contact information.
Thanks.

The post you are replying to is from 2013. As far as I know, Tom is no longer selling on eBay so it's unlikely likely that he will see your post. Have you opened a claim with Canada Post?

As mentioned in my last post, Tom (toff3) will probably not see your your request.
Did you send the package are are you receiving it? Is it insured? If you can give more details, someone may be able to make a suggestion?
