Shipping issue

I have indicated in every listing that I ship to USA and Canada yet I keep getting messages from people in individual states saying that my post says I do not ship to their state? Why is this and how can I correct it?

About half of your listings are showing a shipping price or the U.S. To see which ones are not showing up go into one your listings and click on see sellers other listings. At the top of the page, change the search to shipping plus lowest and change the location to the United States and enter a zip code. I use 92210.

You might have to refresh the page and then you will see what a buyer in the U.S. sees for shipping prices.

In the listings that state shipping not specified, the problem could be that you are using Expedited Shipping U.S. but that the dimensions that you have entered are too small for that service. The minimum measurements for expedited USA are 21xm x 14 cm x .5cm. But the minimum measurements for expedited or regular parcel within Canada are 10cm x 7cm x 1mm so you could be getting a price for shipping within Canada but not to the U.S. The calculator won't tell you that the measurements are incorrect...it just gives the message that shipping is not specified.

Some suggestions....Some of your U.S. shipping shows that you are using light packet but the price you are charging is much higher. If an item will fit within the maximum parameters for oversize lettermail (380 mm x 270 mm x 20 mm)

you can use oversize lettermail within Canada and light packet to the U.S.  Light packet up to 150 gr is $3.79 + tax so even after you add in your shipping supplies, the price would be more reasonable than the $11 that you are charging to ship a key chain.  Within Canada, you could ship that same keychain for $1.34 + tax although lettermail will go up on March 31st. Buyers tend to be quite particular about what they pay for shipping so its best to try and send an item the most economical way possible. You might even be able to then charge more for the key chain. 🙂

There is no tracking or insurance with those services but in most categories, there are few packages that ever get 'lost'. Only you can decide what your risk level is...many sellers use self insurance rather than use the more expensive mail services. There is always the option of third party insurance as well.

I copied this from one of pj's posts and it may answer your question: The most common problem is when a seller is using calculated shipping for expedited shipping to the U.S. but the measurements are too small for that service. The minimum measurements for expedited USA are 21xm x 14 cm x .5cm. But the minimum measurements for expedited or regular parcel within Canada are 10cm x 7cm x 1mm so you could be getting a price for shipping within Canada but not to the U.S. The calculator won't tell you that the measurements are incorrect...it just gives the message that you've seen.
