Specific Selling Manager Question

When I am making a template Shipping weights and measures show up in Imperial values. I cannot see anywhere to change this.

I've made one draft and the measurements were Metric, but for a Template they only give me the option of Imperial, which of course will not work.

Does anyone know how I can fix this.

Wendy

Specific Selling Manager Question

I found the problem

I went through the form again from the start checking along the way to make sure the URL had not changed.

Lo and Behold - right before the shipping options there is a link where to change measurement units.

I did not notice it when I was making the original because I was concentrating on picking the correct shipper and not at all concerned with measurements at that time. By the time you get to the fields for measurements, that link is long gone off the screen. I looked all over by the measurements field for a place to change them, but did not think to scroll backwards. What a dummy - LOL see I really need a good user interface. 😞

Sorry to bother you all, but I learned some new stuff in the process. I'm off now to try out that Sell Similar function.

Thanks everyone.

If you are listing on eBay.com, measurements are American style!  Metric is unknown to Americans generally and eBay.com specifically.

eBay "best practices" is to NOT use a template. Best practices for a description are to repeat the title and then three or four bullet points. 14-18 pt, black on white.

Look at your listings on a mobile device with no scrolling.

Specific Selling Manager Question

I'm not on .com I've always been on .ca

Just subscribed to selling manager yesterday, so I'm trying to get used to it. That will take awhile, but I really need to be able to use metric.

Hmmm, not sure we are thinking the same things when it comes to templates.

I sell different things, and I'm just trying to make a template with all the relevant information for that particular category. Then I will use the template and just fill in the things that are different.

I'm simplifying my listings, as I go. My old ones have a simple border and coloured background, but all new listings are pretty basic. I don't have a cell phone, so I can't check them.

I just don't want to have to fill in all the same information for every listing. Only the description and pictures and UPC code if applicable and anything else that is unique to that listing.

Can anyone answer my original question about the Imperial measurements?

No because I have only ever used flat rate and most of my listings are "free" shipping.

For listing, I simply hit "sell similar" and everything I use is right there. That is all I have pretty much ever done, in 14 years.

Sell Similar?? I've heard of that, never really knew what it was. I will check it out. If it's what I think it is now that you've said how you use it, I won't have to make templates for every different type of listing. That would be really nice.

The Drafts have Metric Measurements so I'm thinking sell similar will have Metric too.

http://cgi5.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll

I don't know if that link will work, but it is on dotCA and actually it doesn't seem to have Imperial measures as an option.

This is the "old' or "advanced" form.

Just to be clear, I know you start out listing on dotCA, but are you getting Canada Post as your shipper? Or USPS?

I've had my computer move me from one site to the other unexpectedly, and we constantly see confused posts from American, British and European members wondering why they are here?

Check the URL just in case.

Stuff happens.

The link does not work - page not responding

I don't know what form it is. I just subscribed to Selling Manager yesterday. I'm using the form that shows up. I don't see anywhere that I can select different forms

I have expedited Parcel selected for Domestic shipping, Small Packet USA Air, and Small Packet International Air, so I don't think that is the problem, but I will double check to make sure that they have not changed. I've noticed that every time the little blue circle comes up to save something, other things are lost, or go back to default. It's very frustrating.

I will go back and try again, and make sure that the URL has not changed to .com. I didn't check that at all.

You're not kidding Stuff Happens. The last few months have been weird. Refresh, Refresh, Refresh and something different all the time.

Thanks for your suggestions. I will find some way to make this work, but I sure will miss Turbo Lister. It's so reliable, it just works - imagine that!
