In contemplating the ramifications of transferring my listings to com. in the future in order to continue selling in U.S. dollars and the suggestions from some people on this board that many Canadian sellers will be unable to meet the the requirements needed to remain qualified for the TRS status due to the high costs re tracking in Canada, what are your thoughts on the possibility of Ebay continuing to grant Canadian sellers an exemption on tracking requirements, albeit it be on com.
Your thoughts ?

there is no TRS badge on .com. and hasn't been for ages. Only TRS Plus get a badge displayed on .com. Look at your listings on .com and you will see that it isnt there

Take a look at your listings again using .com in the URL. You are not considered TRS Plus as the TRS badge does not appear in your listings.

Pierre, you are confusing US TRS Plus (the premium programme) with US TRS (the standard programme). I realize I don't have the TRS Plus badge. I lost it when eBay brought in the tracking validation requirements some time ago, but I have always had (and apparently still have) TRS US. I also still have my Global TRS.
What I'm trying to point out is that there is either a gross mistake somewhere, or the requirement for tracking for US TRS (the standard programme) has very recently been changed.
At the risk of overkill and over-exposure, here is what my Dashboard indicates (note the U.S. flag). And note that this is not TRS Plus, as I'm well aware. What I'm saying is that it appears eBay has now shifted the higher requirement (90% tracking) from TRS Plus to US TRS, making even the standard US TRS programme virtually impossible for a Canadian seller to maintain.
I would really appreciate if any eBay reps are around that they clarify this apparent contradiction between my Dashboard (and it seems, Mr. Elmwood's too) and the link to the TRS rules that was posted by 'poco' and yourself.
BTW, if the moderators are around, there seems to be a problem with using the "Reply" button on these boards. I wasn't able to reply directly to some posters, but was able to use the "Reply" button on the OP's post. Please help -- this has been going on for days now.

There is/was info somewhere that did say that there would be a slight advantage in search for any U.S. TRS although I have my doubts that is true.

The reply buttons is working fine for me.

That may just be the explanation. If so, that information is very, very old, and even pre-dates the changes to TRS Plus! If you'll notice, TRS Plus says nothing about tracking. No wonder we poor schmucks get so confused!
My big concern is that if tracking is now required for US TRS (as it used to be for US TRS Plus) then I'm out of luck if I switch to listing on .com (that is, assuming eBay's "help" page on this is actually accurate).
Even if that was true, which it isn't...that still wouldn't have anything to do with whether or not you listed on .com or .ca.
I think you misunderstood my concern. I'm looking at the advantages of having US TRS (regular programme) when listing on .com, i.e. better search placement, etc. -- or so eBay tells us. I was thinking the link posted by 'poco' was current and would mean my US TRS would be gone soon, as of the next evaluation. OMG I wish eBay would do a better job of keeping its help/info pages up to date!

Yes, yes, of course I know all that, for heaven's sake. I had TRS Plus for some time and was sorry to lose my badge when the tracking validation was introduced.
My point was that I assumed the link to the eBay info page that 'poco' posted was current and correct (silly me for thinking I could trust eBay information). You'll note it says US TRS gets a badge --- my reaction: WTH!!?????

TRS Plus is mentioned in fact, but this information must be so old that (down near the bottom of the page), TRS Plus is an afterthought that mentions nothing about the badge that was later added to TRS Plus.
All this kerfuffle because of stupid eBay's outdated help pages -- Yikes!
Thanks for your keen observation skills, otherwise we would have been going around in circles for hours.

Try replying to one of Pierre's posts and please let us know what happens. His was the particular one I was having trouble with today. (Maybe he's blocked me - LOL).
For some reason I was having trouble with Raphael's posts yesterday too.

I'm usually very skeptical about eBay's pronouncements, and I recall this one too. However, in this case I decided that it couldn't hurt to try to at least be at the level of the better competitors I have in the U.S.
Few of those competitors can afford tracking for things like sewing, knitting and embroidery patterns and such, so TRS Plus is a rare thing even on .com in my categories. The US TRS at least might give me some visibility in the crowd.

I noticed the mention of TRS plus after I posted.....sorry. That confuses me a bit though. Although I'm sure the info is old because of the .60 DSR charts, that page seems to be a mixture of info from different time periods because although it mentions the TRS plus, it also mentions getting a badge just for US TRS. I'm fairly sure that as soon as TRS plus started, there were no badges on .com unless you qualified for TRS plus. It is confusing.

Yes, I think you're correct about the badges. I seem to recall you and I both had the TRS Plus badges for a while until they introduced tracking validation. Since I lost TRS Plus, I haven't had a badge on .com.
And yes, it is terribly confusing. Can you imagine a new seller trying to figure this out? It's very frustrating even for those of us who have been around for several years. I find it frankly rather ridiculous for a site as important as eBay not to ensure that their info/help pages are kept up to date, at least every few months.
BTW, I suppose for the sake of newcomers (or others who may still not be sure what the rules are for TRS for Canadians), I would say it's best to rely on the Dashboard. At least that gives a seller the current picture of his/her status, and a brief description of what that status is based on.

Here is my take and assumptions and I will try to keep it simple.
I have been listing on .com and .ca for years. I do not get a TRS badge on .com because they changed it to TRS plus which requires tracking minimum requirements which I do not have nor care about. So, no badge on .com.
I have a TRS badge on .ca and have had for a very long time. I get my 20% discount on everything I sell on .ca AND .com. You do not need the badge on .com to get the discount.
If this changes in the future, I am sure they will let us know or not.
I think this will all be tied into listing on .ca in C$ and the future. List everything on .ca or not, that will be our choices.
It will however be Ebay's choice if they will allow .com listings to get the 20% in the future with no tracking. Maybe the same for Canada, who knows.
I may be ___ about a lot of what Ebay does, does not do, says, or does not say, but I refuse to worry myself to death about what may or may not happen in the future because I can't change what they do.
We have had certain privileges for years and I don't really expect to keep them forever.
