Total amount of Fee when selling ?

I wanted to see how the selling side of ebay worked so decided to sell something that was cheap and easy to get to the buyer to find out. It sold for .99 cents. Fees took up .33 cents of that. The amount of money is not important. I just want to understand how it works.

Here is some info about the sale.

I used the free auction and free buy it now option. From what I see Final value fee is 9%. Sold in US funds. I read here somewhere there is a conversion rate of 2.5 % .

33% of the sale seems a little high.What other fees am I missing. Is 33% a normal rate when selling something online? Thanks for any info.

Thank you for your post but I have looked at that page. I can't see how I was charged 33%. I didn't use any other features other than the free auction and free buy it now options. My insertion fee would be free as it is my first item this month. It says 50 free on the chart. Final Value fee 9% .

I did just notice the contact support button though. Maby I will try that a little later and see what they say.
