In 1999 I with others set up pirate radio station called DRK RADIO.
It was great fun and lasted for about one year.
There was some great djs playing blues to rock pop and a bit of everything.
The djs names were in code so the powers that be did not know who we were.
There was the silver fox
The hairy man
Dj hacker
Billy the kid
Togge
Chris Carroll
And many more.
What I would like to do now is start it again on this board.
You be the dj and find the music video you want to play on YouTube and post a link on here.
You can also post a video of you talking about the song you picked if you like.
And the next posted do the same.
I will get the ball rolling

This was the very first song played at live aid.
Not a great song, but we have to start with something.
Can you do better, please join in.

“Lola”…… LOL I walked in a bar I hadn’t been in a while. As I walked in two very good looking women passed me heading to the back room. I mean they were gooooood looking…Vegas showgirl stock.
So I walk into the main part of the bar and get greeted by the owner and a few friends I haven’t seen in a while. I sit down at a table and watch the stage show which after a couple of minutes I realize is a mime troop called the ‘Great Pretenders’. They dress up like famous female singers and karaoke tunes in a full Vegas style show. So…. a few of us are sitting there talking when in walks a friend of one of the other guys. This friend is a construction worker…..Portuguese fellow….big guy….Mr Macho. He sits down for a beer and he starts drooling over the ‘women’ on the stage. His buddy leans over and tells him …”those are guys”. He doesn’t believe his friend or us…..he thinks we’re putting him on. He gets really stubborn and insists those are woman and HE KNOWS a woman when he sees one!!!!!
As this is all happening,,,,right behind this guy is one of the ‘women’ leaning against the wall at a doorway and he/she is on a break. ‘She’ hears the conversation and leans over to the guy and says in his deepest truck driver voice……”they’re not lying”. I think I laughed for ten minutes. That construction worker turned 3 shades of white and looked like he was in shock. You had to have been there to really appreciate it.
Rainy Monday….. appropriate tune …….. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCG3kJtQBKo&feature=related

This video is……well…..different. Every generation has it’s ‘thing’ and although it hasn’t caught on in N. America….it just might. Young people in Europe get together for ‘parades’ based on ‘techno’ music with massive ‘boom’ setups as they parade down streets. The parades are meant as a statement against commercialism. You’ll have to look up the name of the parades on Wikipedia (ahem). Anyhow this video of one of the parades from Germany and it went viral with a million hits a day (there are many copies of it on YouTube and other sites.)
The guy is called Techno Viking (Wikipedia). He’s unusual….no nonsense person and he has acquired a world wide following. The music….. may be the future.

The music….. may be the future.
Sounds a lot like native drums. Maybe the future is the past.
Anything is better than rap. I had never found music I didn't like until rap came along. I can handle some of it, but the portrayal of women as sexual objects is a little over the top.
That Viking dude - wouldn't want to mess with him.

With a glass of Glenfiddich
That's what I am doing wrong. You have to put it in a glass. No wonder I keep waking up with a headache. And it's a pain in the butt trying to get the ice through that small opening in the top of the bottle. Cheers! And Merry Christmas and a happy whatever else you might celebrate at this time of the year!!!!!
