Hi Everyone,


We are starting a new thread here for you to post your concerns when you encounter an eBay issue or bug and have un-tacked the previous thread that has been around since the beginning of 2008.


Here are some important things to point out:


1. This is not eBay Customer Support. All bugs and site issues should be reported to CS to ensure that they are escalated & tracked. You can report issues to CS using Contact Us. Enter a brief description of the issue you are encountering into the search box and select the most appropriate topic(s).


2. We would like to keep this thread as organized and purpose-driven as possible. If you don't have a bug or site issue to discuss, please consider posting to a different board/thread.


3. Provide as much detail as possible when describing your Issue.

Happy New Year Kalvin!

I wondered why ebay sellers in the U.S. who sell collectibles can afford to put up so many photos so I asked my favourites. They told met ebay sellers in the U.S. who sell collectibles can put up as many pics as they want for free. Is it true? If so, when will we have this super advantage?

It does not have to be "photobucket". It could be anywhere you store your image on the internet (except eBay of course).

Many sellers use the space allocated by their internet provider to store images. Sellers with larger volume and inventory will rent space (host) to store images or their own website. I do. 🙂

Hi! I don't know what a photo bucket is... Also, I looked at Post #14 and it was about CS, whatever that is. I appreciated the other ebayer's response as well, but I didn't understand it as I am not very good with computers..

Yep......Huge glitch!!! All items listed in the last two days will not come up via word search on Ebay.com. This includes items in Ebay stores that "rolled over" recently for another 30 days. Ebay sellers that list on .ca are completely invisible to anyone browsing .com by seaching for item title words!!:-(

My Ebay experience has been hell. First they double bill me then they force me to ask for a refund 4 times and never sent the refund!!! I will never do any business with ebay ever again. They never even emailed me to tell me why I got no refund. Every time I call to resolve it they say cheque's in the mail. They are liars. I waited over 20 minutes each time I called (total of 5 phone calls) They lost the records of my first inquiries. They always ask for 30 days to resolve problems that never get resolved. If you are considering using ebay....don't. Not only is everything way overpriced thanks to massive shipping costs but sometimes the items never come at all!!! Ebay don't care about you. Their customer service model is strictly based on giving people the run around. This is the worst company I have ever done business with.

After selling here for years, there are so many bugs it is impossible to list them all. My latest: for 8 months no one has been able to get shipping charges although I have correctly filled out the information. Numerous calls and all I have been told is that it will be fixed in 24-48 hours and that numerous dot ca sellers are experiencing the same difficulties. 8 months later it is still isn't fixed!!!!!!! Sixteen times I have been promised a refund and compensation for all of the lost sales etc which is always going to be refunded in 24-28 hours. Surprise!!! It never is! Managers tell me they will contact me by the end of business to confirm the issue has been escalated and they never do!!! They take my seller fees fast enough but then don;t provide the service that is contracted to go with it.

The customer service at ebay is totally incompetent. I will point out that any issues I have at goantiques, etsy, or rubylane are promptly dealt with and professionally. From now on my money goes there.

Other issues - there is no category 8 in the store listings if you are using firefox, and when you click on add a tracking number there is no php form. And if you list in US funds, the shipping calculator calculates shipping in Canadian funds.....so you are losing a percentage right off the bat...also, if you are selling different items, you cannot change the tax table other than manually....in Ontario there is GST on some items but not other items...so if you sell more than one thing you have to manually adjust all the time.....

I agree that there are often glitches here and it is frustrating. What sort of problems are you having with the shipping calculator? Your listings are showing a price for both Canada and the U.S.

After 8 months of no shipping fees with my lisings (I reported it Oct 6, 2010) they finally fixed it this week. For 8 months anyone looking at my listings could not get a shipping quote, whhich meant all of the items in my store did not having shipping prices and apparently while they fixed new listings, they cannot retroactively fix past ones. I closed the store yesterday....will let the last few autions then, and I am gone, until I get that elusive promised refund - promised by 6 different ebay managers. But I am not holding my breath 🙂

That problem was fixed about March 21 and was only affecting items that had just been listed or relisted in the previous few days.

It has been a valid postal code for 3 years.

Subject : CHANGE IS NOT NECESSARILY PROGRESS ! -


 


I just logged in for the first time in a few days and discovered (to my annoyance) that my Bidding-Buying page had a different layout. -


 


Occasionally in the past, something like this would happen, but I could adjust the page settings to fix it. -


 


NOT THIS TIME. -


 


I am accustomed to - and LIKE - having all of my items being watched to be occupying ONE page, and now I seem to be forced to PAGE thru them rather than scroll. -


 


Now, I am limited to 25 items per page. -


 


Nobody asked nor consulted with me about this change. -


 


PLEASE RESTORE MY FREEDOM OF CHOICE ! -


 


I respectfully insist that I be allowed to SCROLL thru all of my items on a single page. -

I had a problem with my Ebay funds not going into my PayPal account.  The funds would be taken out of the buyer's account but did not end up in my account.  After a number of calls to Ebay and PayPal, it was determined that Ebay (for reasons known only to them) defaulted to the original Email address I signed up with in 1999.  That address no longer existed as I changed service providers in 2003.  The payments were going to the old email address that no longer existed.

I had to go into each auction I had listed and manually change the address.  This took a lot of time.  Those auctions that were ending in less than 24 hours could not be changed.  PayPal was able to relist my old email address on my account so the lost payments finally came through.  They had to do this themselves.  If I had tried, it would have sent a message to my old address for me to confirm - which wasn't possible.

Hi,


Recently, I've somehow lost the "WON Items" list from my homepage and I can't retrieve it with the Page Settings/Option buttons... Is this due to a permanent/universal change that was made by ebay's webmaster or is it just an issue with my own lists handling?  A far as I remember, I didn't delete it.


And the "Purchase History" list is not as handy as the "Won Items" one as I can't delete the items I don't want to see any more while this was possible with the "Won" one and I used to keep only those items/transactions not yet completed (as feedback to come, as for instance).

Hi again,


 


I'm not sure whether someone performed a further mod to the bidding-buying page, or whether I just today figured out what first had gotten changed and had missed it the other day, but I now know the way to once again make all of my items being watched to appear on the same page and to allow me to scroll thru ALL of them at once.


 


For the benefit of all, here is how :


 


What is necessary is to click the arrow to open the 'LISTS' menu on the left and then choose 'ALL'.


 


Next, scroll to the bottom of the watching section and click on the link for '200' or whatever other number suits you.

I just noticed that too.


 


Web designers gotta justify their jobs from time to time, IMNSHO.


 


Also see my recent posts about changes to the 'Bidding-Buying' list.


 


One way might be to 'Create a new list' by clicking on the link for that, located just above your 'Bidding-Buying' list.


 


How you specify what will APPEAR in the new list, I have not yet figured out.


 


I'm on IE8, BTW.
