Sellers pay about 9% on the Shipping Fee we charge our customers.

To be more exact, we pay 9% on the first domestic shipping fee.

So.

If you offer Free Shipping within Canada, and move your actual shipping cost to your asking price, you will pay nothing on Shipping FVF (9% of nothing is nothing) even if you charge $56.83 to ship to your customer in Brazil.

If you offer a Flat Rate $10 for shipping within Canada by Regular Parcel, and $25 for ExpressPost shipping within Canada, you will pay 9% on the cost of Regular Parcel.

If you use Calculated Shipping within Canada, the 9% will be calculated on shipping to your own postal code, even if the item is sent to Iqaluit or Rio de Janiero.

Wasn't that easy?

Exactly. I tried figuring a way out of paying the final value on shipping when it was first introduced. My conclusion was there IS no way...so business as usual for me except ebay gets more money.

I'm a little foggy on this one too. I don't print shipping labels from ebay. Why is ebay taking 9% when they have nothing to do with shipping?

I hear ya...the simple answer is "because they can". It's frustrating to be sure, but on the other hand an ebay seller has a world-wide audience. I'm selling things now that didn't sell at a garage sale this summer...we couldn't GIVE these things away...and now I'm up about $600 (after fees) since selling on ebay.
