Wondering how long I have to leave feedback on a transaction. I made a purchase from overseas 45 days ago and haven't received the item yet. I understand it can take longer for the shipping, and wouldn't mind giving a little more time before I have to leave negative feedback for shipping. The communication has been good, and if the item would just hurry up and get here, I could leave better feedback for the seller than if I end up not receiving the item.

You have 45 days to leave feedback and file a claim.
Regardless if you're willing to be patient, I would open a claim. That would give you more time to get your end covered. If you get the item in 55 days, you can close the case. But just in case, I would open it around the 40 day mark.
As for the negative.. It's just my opinion, but why leave a negative for something that is out of the seller's hands? If the seller shipped the item quickly, and has responded to all your emails but the shipping company is taking a long time to deliver your item, I don't see how that would deserve a negative for the seller. In my opinion, I would instead leave no feedback. As the seller was nice (Assuming here, of course). Just my two cents

File the claim immediatly!
You only have 45 days and the claim extends that by another 20.

You have up to 60 days to leave feedback and it is best to do so after your claim has been processed.
Either the seller or Paypal will refund you.
Should the item arrive after you have been refunded, you can refund the refund through PP's Send Money option.

Rate the seller only on the time it took to mail the item, not the time it took you to receive the item.
Don't hold sellers responsible for delays in mail services, international custom delays, or for the time it takes for your payment to clear. If you picked up the item locally, you won't be able to provide a rating for this category.
If the seller met specific requirements, the seller automatically receives a 5-star shipping time detailed seller rating and you won't be able to provide a rating for this category.
Note: If we determine at a later date that the seller met the requirements for an automatic 5-star shipping time rating, we may adjust the rating to 5 stars.
