If you purchase without a quote on shipping beforehand, the seller can give any shipping cost he feels is fair. If he is not in Canada, or if you are not in his country, he may want to use an overnight /express Air Mail service with tracking.
In future, do not bid on such listings until you have a firm quote on shipping costs.
