What is with eBay's insane 'FRANTIC" reminders that kept popping up every few seconds? It kept interrupted when I was going to make bid or make offers or post any items, etc. It is getting insane and time consuming and forced me to wait until those "FRANTIC" reminders disappeared but they kept popping up every few minutes. What is it with eBay that kept "inventing" those insane features when they are not necessary. What eBay needs to do is to work to make it better for our search capability to be more better and to reach to many buyers.
It popped up "You are outbid, increase bid". Did eBay actually think we need "help" with those insane "FRANTIC" reminders every few seconds??
So what if our bids are outbidded, we choose not to increase bids or prefer to wait until the last few minutes to increase bid. We DON'T need eBay's "help" in that area. Get those "FRANTIC" reminders out and leave it alone for us to do them. Thanks.

Sounds like my experience when I stumble onto ebay.COM by mistake. I've never had those reminders when I use .CA (and they annoy the heck out of me, too. Terrible idea, whoever thought to add them.)

I can't say that I have ever had any 'FRANTIC' or 'insane' reminders but there is a section called buying alerts that allows you to control which alerts you receive. It is under site preferences - general preferences

I'm not sure I'd say they're frantic, but they may seem a little insane, as in irrational and very annoying.
I agree with you that they're unnecessary, and in fact the last time I bid on an item I actually found it confusing to have the pop-up reminding me that I should bid again. I thought: "Didn't I just place my bid????"
However, personally I think this may be eBay's way of attempting to elicit higher bids (i.e. additional bids or reserve bids) from reluctant newbies. Since we're told that the majority of eBay sales are now fixed price, perhaps people have forgotten how to place bids online.
After all, I think few other selling sites still having bidding, and probably few people nowadays go to live auctions regularly to get the feel of the process.

I have been reading eBay.com forums and there are several new topics in the past couple of days with many posts about a change to popups on bidding saying you are outbid. eBay apparently changed or broke something (are we surprised??) and it is annoying the heck out of bidders in the past 2 days.

Must be 10-20 more topics spread across various forums on eBay.com

Along with all the others mentioned, I'm also getting reminders to bid or increase my bid on items I already won days ago.

Have you checked to see in site preferences if your alert preferences are checked off? If this is a new feature, the default may be to allow all alerts unless the preferences are changed.

Thanks for your reply. I did review my settings a while back, and did just take a second look.
'Watched item ending' and 'Second Chance Offer' are the only ones checked off, but I still get them all.
It's really not bothering me, I just thought I'd chime in because I feel the reminders to bid or increase my bid on items I've already won days ago to be laughable.
Others are: 'You Won' or 'Thanks' 10 days after the fact.

I did turn them off and the FRANTIC reminders still pop up!! Sheesh!!
Why do eBay needs to continue to add something that is not necessary like this one?? And also why do they need to continue to "fic" when they are not broken like removing the half blue arrow icon!!
I read on the board and it said that they had a test and got lots of positives as if!! I bet those who test has only 10 which doesn't bother them!! What about the sellers that has 500 or more!!! It is time consuming. Put it back!!!

It is called job creation program!
Ebay workers are finding fixes for things that are not broken, why ? so they would be able to feel they earned their paychecks, they can't make things better but they can make them different.

I did go to my account to site preferences to turn them off on eBay.ca and also on eBay.com a few days ago and I still get them.
It is a JOKE that eBay just won't accept my turning them off as "NO" to those features. Can't eBay respects our preferences and accept what we choose? Or do they have too much POWER over us???? eBay, get it and respect it!!
