Your seller is trying to scam you. Not only is insurance completely unnecessary for a buyer, sellers are prohibited from even asking a buyer to pay for insurance which only benefits the seller, BTW. Buyers are fully protected against non delivery,damages and items not as described by PayPal buyer protection. Here's a link to the selling practices policy. Pay close attention to the sections On terms an conditions where it mentions that sellers are not allowed to say that they're not responsible after the package is in the mail and to the shipping costs section where it mentions that charging an extra fee for insurance is not allowed. Do nt let the seler intimidate you into paying for something that benefits your seller. You might consider sending this link to your seller after reminding him why you don't need insurance.

if he has provided an option without the added insurance just pay that and if it doesn't arrive in 45 days you can file a claim
