selling with unusual payment offer?

I have a person telling me he is out of town, wants to buy a guitar on kijiji . he tells me he is going to pay asking price plus my paypal fees and once payment is cleared he is going to send a person to pick up the item? I wonder if this is a scam in any way as im new to selling on pp?

Sounds like a Scam to me.

If a buyer wants to pick something up in person tell them to bring cash.

Cash only on pickup.

With paypal you cannot prove they got it

and they can do a chargeback.

Paypal will not accept a signed receipt as proof.

Since he trusts his buddy to pickup and deliver the guitar, he should trust the buddy to hand over the cash. And cash means coins and currency, not a cheque or a money order.

And not Paypal. Unless you are willing to also send an ExpressPost envelope with the reciept in it -- just to have proof that something was delivered.
