Global shipping costs appear to be low (shipping heavy stereo speakers (2) from Michigan U.S. to British Columbia Canada,
How is real cost applied to my invoice. I'm sure e-bay won't swallow the additional $$$.

Dimac,
There is no need to post the same thing twice: http://community.ebay.ca/t5/Packaging-Shipping/incorrect-global-shipping-costs/qaq-p/333621. About your problem...
If the listing says a shipping cost, then that is what the seller is charging UNLESS they have a hidden handling fee, sales tax (for your state), etc. Some sellers like to charge a low shipping cost, then when they invoice the buyer, they add extra shipping on. You can try contacting the seller about your problem too.

The Global Shipping Program is Seller Protection Program designed to protect US and UK sellers who have historically been loathe to ship outside their borders.
The seller sets the cost of shipping. She cannot charge more BUT
There will (probably) be import fees through the GSP.
These should be on the listing if you are looking at it on eBay dotCA. They can't be seen on eBaydotCOM.
The GSP will charge you applicable Canadian duty if the selling price is over $20CDN (about $14.50 CDN).
Were the speakers made in a NAFTA country? (Canada, USA, Mexica and for some reason Chile)
If so there will be no duty.
Are the speakers used?
If so there will be no duty.
There will be sales tax, new or used.
There will be a GSP service charge of $5USD (about $6.50CDN)
These will show on your order BEFORE you agree for the second time to buy and pay.
So go slow.
Some sellers charge the same for shipping to the GSP in Kentucky as they would to ship directly to Germany or Australia or Canada.
Some only charge for delivery confirmed domestic postage to KY. (The GSP plant is in KY. It's a "hub and spoke distribution system". Look it up on Wikipedia)
The GSP is a freight forwarder. It makes its money by taking all those shipping charges and amalgamating the ones that are too high with the ones that are too low. I guess it comes out to a nice profit.
If you are concerned, or if the seller is not in fact using the Global Shipping Program, ask the seller what service he plans to use and if he is sure the $XX.oo he is charging is correct.
Save both of you some heartache.
