Saga of the storage place is over for now. Yeaahhh! We seniors are feeling quite smug that we could do it on our own.

While going through some of the papers I found this--any grammatical errors are probably mine--I had copied this.

Good morning to everyone including Lurkers.

I saw this in the Victoria paper -letters to the editor- this morning.

Kindness of Strangers can be magical

I took my daughter and live-in caregiver for lunch at Moxie's on Yates Street on Valentine's Day and we had a wonderful lunch.
When the bill came, I opened up the holder and couldn't find how much was owing.
My daughter told the holder and pulled out a note that had "Happy Valentine's Day," with a heart below it.
The waitress came over and said, "The gentleman who was sitting at the table next to you paid for your lunch".
We were shocked, surprised and overwhelmed; it really made our day.
Whoever you are--we just want to say thank you!
You probably noticed that I am severely crippled with rheumatoid arthritis and use a wheelchair to get around.
But what you didn't know is that I also have cancer, which is the reason we were in Victoria.
My caretaker and I live in Port Alberni and my daughter lives in Courtney. We drove all the way to Victoria for an appointment at the cancer clinic.
So this act of kindness was really something special.

So many people I would love to hug reading that--the waitress (hope it made her day!),caretakers, the daughter taking time out of her life to be with her mother ((((Hugs to Nicki)))), the writer, Marianne, for taking everyone to a nice restaurant despite the occasion and then writing the letter to the editor to thank and to warm, (like (((Rolly))) writing thank you notes to everyone when she is feeling so ill), the paper for printing it, and of course, to the "gentleman who was sitting next to them".

I would also like to send out hugs and offer up prayers for anyone who could use a little kindess of strangers at this time.

With all the bad news that you hear nowadays..it's so easy to forget that most of humankind is loving and kind.

Just since I've started posting on these boards I've read alot of unhappy people.... Have you read any of the posts today? It's like a breath of spring air has been here. I don't know what has happened to everybody, but it's different... can't quite put my finger on it, but it's there......Thank God...

A lovely night here. Waves pounding--I have nice roast chicken leftovers ready for dinner--I like nights when all I have to do is prepare the veggies and make a salad--time to return all my emails--incoming for you who emailed me on Yahoo--Hotmail is down again for me, but I think I have replied to those anyway--if not soon. I can't believe I have spare time- I know tomorrow will be different--packed with appointments, people and obligations, but by God's good Grace--I have an evening free. Whooopeeee!

Hope everyone's evening is free or crammed with wonderful things tonight. God Bless you all.

Snow has resumed today...looks like we're in for another 5 cms. It's the kind of day you just want to light a fire in the hearth and curl up with a good book...or The Good Book....and drink hot chocolate. Or I could do my taxes. Or I could experiment with this new hair colour.

Meh....I think I'll cruise the web for kitchen renovation ideas. Tired of looking at the Brady Bunch cabinets and countertops.

I was listening to CFRB yesterday and the host of that particular show as saying, how he meets people who say things like, Kyoto is stupid, Al Gore doesn't know what he's talking about, etc etc.

And these same people admit they don't know a thing about science, no education in science, and haven't bothered to watch science films relating to Global Warming, including Gore's movie.

That's like saying "Hey, not only am I ignorant, but I'm ready and willing to admit to the world that I'm incredibly stupid by not taking the time to learn about something I know nothing about". How DENSE could one be!??! And I think Falwell falls into that category.

Regarding India and CHina...my mom always said, when you point your finger at someone, there are 3 pointing back at you. Do what you can at home to fix the problem.

I've been to several Asian countries, including India. India has a population of 1 billion and you won't find rotten kids that get new Ipods and MP3 players every year, you won't find people buying new computer monitors and laptops every year, and you won't find a family of 4 that has 2 or more cars.

People in India ride bikes, take the train, have scooters. You've seen the crazy trains there, they are loaded with people.

The biggest per capita polluters in the world are Canadians.

Different story on China, they are catching up, and so is India, but in the meantime, let's not deny how wasteful WE are, and stop pointing fingers at other people. It's time to be accountable for OUR actions.

Trupti....and also....we in N. America made the mess that is there now...China, India etc had little to nothing to do with it. We should show by good example.
