It's been an interesting day in the City some call the Centre of the Universe.
First documents and other evidence were released showing Ford meeting in clandestine places with a man who was his personal driver, the same man arrested for drug dealing. The police were actually following the drug dealer and guess who shows up! One of the meetings was especially interesting when Ford and his driver both showed up minutes apart at a convenience store, wandered the isles separately ....... but never showed any sign of recognizing each others presence in the store.........and then Ford disappeared in the store bathroom for a while. Did Ford pick up from the shelves more than a bag of Doritos?
Now, the police have uncovered the video.........that's the one Ford said did not exist.......the one showing Ford smoking what 'seems to be' crack cocaine.....in the company of known drug dealers. Police Chief Blair having seen the video said....."I am disappointed".

Now, will Harper forget his friendship and throw Ford "under the bus" as he has done with so many others?
Absolutely Harper will, as he does anyone who is in the way of his ego and plans. But as of late, Harper shouldn't be as worried about others under the bus..............he has to worry more about how he will crawl out from under the bus he is sliding under.
Christmas for me too, I never from day one liked the man. But another sad part is he doesn't care about anything, the city, or the country...........

Wynne is a common run of the mill self-serving politician like a majority of politicians and she's caught up in a massive scandal of epic proportions that she can't get out of as hard as she has tried. McGuinty threw her to the wolves when he left just like Harris did to his party when he tucked his tail and ran and Wynne walked into it like a sheep going to shearing. Personally, I think there should be a criminal investigation into all these matters and whoever was part of the inner circle and knew about these political manipulations and waste of money, should be criminally prosecuted on behalf of the people of Ontario.
Ford however although he is also a politician he has a personal self destructive personality and it's finally caught up with him. He fancies himself as Boss Hog or Big Daddy (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof) who runs the show and no one can do anything about it. Like his friend Harper they both have narcissistic controlling personalities, but Ford who was always able to control people when he was a nobody has pushed the envelope too far this time. Chief Blair is out to get him (especially now that Ford's lawyer called for Blair's resignation) and Ford also knows that when the Sun newspaper goes after one of their own..............he's chopped liver. Ford will continue his mayorship until he is voted out of office and nothing criminal will happen to him because there is no ability to prove what was in that pipe. Ford will be hanged on the public gallows and the really sad part is, he will take his business, the employees and worst of all his family with him. His children will no longer be the children of the mayor, but instead the children of the dope smoking mayor and that will stick with them their whole life.
And Ford's brother, he'll be out as well next election.
I didn't hear Ford's call in show but I read about it. He is calling for the video to be released. This is no doubt something his lawyer has come up with because the lawyer knows it's a no-go situation. The police have the video and because it may be used in future trials they can't release it. It's like someone saying they did not shoot JFK and the evidence is in police records, but they know those won't be released. It's basically leaving doubt in the minds of some people that the person could be innocent and it puts the spotlight on the police instead. The best defence is a good offence.
It also won't be released in evidence against Ford for smoking crack because as I said earlier there is no way of proving what was in that pipe. No way of proving it except 'logic'. There's the mayor of Toronto in a house where crack is known to be sold and he's with two known crack dealers but he says.........he might have been smoking tobacco.
The rest of the evidence, the clandestine meetings and exchanges of packages with Lisi. I mean come'on!....based on the video evidence if those aren't 'drops' then I'm the Queen of England! There is no direct evidence against Ford but a ton of circumstantial evidence that all adds up.
What to me is most disturbing other than what this has done to his family, are the people who still blindly support him. Absolutely blows my mind!
Ford needs professional help and long term because what and who he is has been going on long term. Just the fact he refuses to even step down temporarily shows that he cares more about himself than the city of Toronto.

''Police have for days been seeking a different kind of audience with Mr. Ford. Detective Sergeant Gary Giroux said Friday he had put a request into the mayor’s chief of staff for an interview. The request had been unheeded, Det. Sgt. Giroux told reporters outside the courthouse where the mayor’s friend and occasional driver, Alessandro Lisi, was granted bail on a charge of extortion. The charge involved alleged attempts to retrieve the video, sources have told The Globe.
Mr. Morris (Fords lawyer) reiterated Monday that the mayor will not be responding to requests from police for a meeting. The lawyer said it is not in Mr. Ford’s interest to speak with officers investigating a video that allegedly shows him smoking crack cocaine.
Councillor John Parker, the deputy speaker on council and a conservative ally of the mayor, said ''it is “shocking” that the mayor of the city is not co-operating with police. If the police think he has information that is useful in a criminal matter, he must respond to their invitation to meet with them and answer their questions,” he said. ''The failure of the mayor to do that is alarming in the extreme. He is the mayor of the City of Toronto. He cannot bob and weave with the police.”
What Stephen Harper and Rob Ford have in common:
Their moral standing eroded and their credibility shot, Rob Ford and Stephen Harper are clinging to their jobs with lame excuses. The mayor argues he cannot say much because “it’s before the courts” – when, in fact, the case that’s before the courts is not his but his drug-dealing pal’s. The prime minister says he’s not responsible for the Senate scandal because his staff is.
Their personalities and misdemeanours are clearly different. Harper is highly disciplined while Ford’s personal and political life is chaotic. One is as calculating as the other is adolescently cavalier. One is an intellect, the other a rube. Harper has a great grasp of public policy, whether you agree with it or not, while Ford is a one-note Charlie — “stop the gravy train.” Ford stands by his buddies, however bad (“I don’t throw my friends under the bus”) while Harper has no compunctions about tossing them aside, however able (Nigel Wright).
Yet Harper and Ford are a mutual admiration society of two (three, if you include Tim Hudak).
Flaherty Stands By 'Good Friend' Ford
Many Canadian conservatives appear to be distancing themselves from Toronto Mayor Rob Ford these days, but Finance Minister Jim Flaherty is standing by his long-time friend.
Flaherty emphasized his personal relationship with the embattled mayor in an interview on Monday with CBC’s "Power & Politics with Evan Solomon."
Solomon asked Flaherty about the allegations Ford smoked crack cocaine and whether the scandal is destructive to economic development in Canada’s largest city.
“You and I both know that there are so many allegations around this guy, staff’s leaving, have you spoken with Mayor Ford since this stuff has broken to help him deal with this stuff?” Solomon asked.
"I’ve spoken with the mayor and I’ve spoken with members of his family. I’m very close to the family, and I won’t comment further on that," Flaherty told Solomon.

I had Ford pegged from the beginning back when he was running for office. Basically Ford is spoiled and probably was since he was a kid where he and his brother got away with anything and everything. He learned how to manipulate people as a kid and he just perfected his abilities as an adult. He knows what people want to hear and he uses that for his own purposes when he is caught and lying has run out of road. This includes saying that he smoked coke when he was drunk. In other words his game is..... "yes I made a mistake, but I'm a nice guy, please feel sorry for me". I do feel sorry for him, not because he's supposedly a nice guy and not because he has admitted doing drugs, but because he's STILL LYING. I read the Toronto on line newspapers this morning and I'm still amazed at the people who are being taken in by this 'child' in the mayors chair in Toronto, they're being manipulated like he has manipulated others through is whole life. I remember when Mel Lastman simply shook the hand of a Hells Angel in Toronto and the city came down on him like a ton of bricks!........but Ford is going to a crack house, hanging around with drug dealers and doing drugs himself and drunk in public and having secret meetings with very questionable movements with a drug dealer and that's not even mentioning Ford's past history and yet some people are patting this guy on the head as if he is a child who made a minor mistake. Quit enabling this man, he need help.
