The micro payments do run into problems a lot, from what is posted here.
I think it may be that Ayden (who run Managed Payments) are sending the micro payments in USD and our bank accounts are in loonies. Then throw in currency exchanges.
The other way of confirming your identity is with government issued ID. While most Canadians are very leery of giving their SIN, I used my passport and DH used his driving license. There may be other acceptable ID.
And sometimes the problem is with the bank. Tangerine does not play well with eBay.

That's not going to change soon.
All new sellers have a Hold on customer payments for up to 30days against your customer's satisfaction.
Until you've been selling for 90 days and sold 25 items your payments will be held until tracking shows delivered, or in 21 days if there's no tracking. They can hold the payment for the full 21 days if you're selling in a high risk category.
And even once the Hold is released, eBay defaults to a weekly bank transfer (Tuesday is pay day).
So if your funds are released on Wednesday, they will be transferred the next Tuesday.
And, oh joy, some banks don't deposit the transferred funds for 24-72 hours after receipt.
This actually is in the Seller Agreement, and nobody ever reads that.
Your bank has to be in the country in which you are registered.
