My listing is about to end and looks like somebody in Columbia is the buyer. I did not specify shipping amount in the listing because I wasn't sure how . How do I eventually charge the buyer the shipping fee?
Don't panic.
The buyer has, in effect, agreed to pay whatever YOU decide is fair. Don't let yourself be bullied.
Go to canadapost.ca and under Business Rates> International enter the requested information.
Use METRIC for the dimensions and weight.
You will get rates for several services. Ignore any that are Surface. Just believe me on this one.
It's up to you if you want a service that is Tracked or Insured. This is for your protection and the buyer does not get a say.
Choose an Air Mail service.
Once you have the rate, send it to the customer. Mention that the service is Air Mail, Tracked and Insured (if it is). The customer may ask for a cheaper rate. Tell her that the service you offer is Air Mail, Tracked and Insured (if it is). Yes, again.
You do not want to ship by Surface.
If she still objects but is polite, offer a Mutual Cancellation.
This frees both of you and both can leave feedback.
If she is angry or abusive, stop communication, and wait until Day Four (96 hours) after purchase and open an Unpaid Item Dispute.
If she does not pay the entire amount including Air Mail shipping, you are freed from the transaction and she cannot leave feedback.
And, if you do not want to ship overseas, go to your Seller Preferences and set up the appropriate Blocks.
