Ah. Managed Payments.

You need a checking account with a Canadian bank. Then further ID.

EBay asks for your SIN, but don't (can't) demand it. I used my passport. DH used his driving license.

Avoid the microdeposits. They often don't work, possibly because of currency exchange.

If you originally registered on dotCOM, and are now trying to open a Managed Payments account, you are in for a world of pain.

It can be done, but your life will be simpler if you forget ever having a dot COM account, abandon the feedback (sigh), and open a new pristine dot CA account.

Avoid the phone clerks who do not work for eBay.

The eBay employees are on social media.  Make sure they understand that Canada is a sovereign nation and does not have the same banks as the USA.
