A buyer has received the goods they have purchased from me. They left me positive feedback. A couple weeks go by and they ask if they can return the item for refund. I accept I would refund the amount minus the shipping fees incurred on my end. I then receive the item in DAMAGED condition. I message her with this information and she claims she mailed it in the brand new condition I had shipped it to her in. I offered her a refund of approx $28US from about $36US since I deducted the shipping fees. But the buyer isn't realizing the item is now DAMAGED....so I can't be refunding her the $28US, she should be getting much less. Ps. no returns accepted on my sale, I guess it's partially my fault I let her mail it back to me.
Now, I'm stuck with a damaged item that is not in the brand new condition I mailed it to her in nor to be sold again. After her rude comments and what not via eBay messages, I have ended this stupid thread with her by telling her she should be expecting her damaged item in the mail (I will obviously use a tracking # because I don't trust her). More fees for me because of an untrustworthy buyer.
She speaks perfect English and has replied again with a message to apologize about her "not very good English"... using "pfft" and demanding a full refund in capital letters in her previous messages, so you get the picture.
I have placed her in my blocked list, but yet she can still message me even after she has left me positive feedback.
I am about to ship her damaged item in the condition she mailed it back to me. What do you guys say?
Okay.
How much time has passed since the purchase?
She has 45 days to open an Item Not As Described case.
She has 60 days to leave feedback and Detailed Seller Ratings.
Both of those are very damaging to you as a seller.
So keep those dates in mind.
Stop arguing with her.
Ps. no returns accepted on my sale,
Irrelevant. If you take Paypal you take returns and give refunds.
I guess it's partially my fault I let her mail it back to me.
I assume that she used Confirmation of Delivery.
What reason did she give for the return?
Now, after thinking about the time that has passed, is the item saleable as it is? We understand that it is damaged, but does that mean it has a nick or does it mean a truck ran over it?
Have you sent pictures of the package to her? If a package is damaged in the mail, the postal system will mark it as such. Sometimes they will even cough up a refund of postage if the damage is their fault.
Have you sent pictures of the damaged item? Poor packaging can allow damage in the mail stream. If she did not return the item immediately on receipt, then we may assume that your packaging was fine and she received it in good shape.
