Hi everyone,
I have been selling trading cards on ebay for a while. I plan to sell sealed video game consoles with batteries in the original packaging. I have heard that batteries are one of the prohibited items. If I opened the original box and removed the batteries from it, the opened item would decrease significantly in value in the collectors' market.
If I tell the carrier that my item contains batteries, will they not accept it?
Thanks.
Your best bet is to contact the carrier directly and include as much information as possible such as the type of battery, whether the battery is inclosed in the device, and where the item is possibly shipping to because they may have different regulations for the USA vs Canada VS Overseas.
One "life hack" is that most companies have easier to access customer service on Twitter or Facebook. I don't use Twitter to Tweet, but I do have a dummy account specifically because of this. If you plan to use a major carrier like Canada Post, UPS, Fedex, etc - you should be able to contact them on Twitter and send a direct message. They might not get back to you instantly, but they usually reply the same day.
