Hello
I missread a sellers ad and then dicovered it was not for the item I wanted but a service to repair, I contacted
the seller the next day explained the situation and request for a refund. The next day the seller responded that they would not refund my purchase so of course first thing I let other Ebay buyers know what these people were doing to me and request that any future buyers should beware of the same thing happening to them.
The seller now has offered if I remove the negative feedback a refund will be issued.
Thanks for any help

It's unfortunate the seller did not refund you right away, especially since it was the next day you contacted them when you realized it was for a service, not an item. Although it may have taken you leaving them negative feedback to get them to have a change of heart, and refund you, at least they have now offered the refund so I would take the refund and remove the negative feedback if that is what it takes.
I know we tend to not read all the information with a listing but here is an example of when it pays to do so!
There is also a good chance the seller now changes their wording somewhat as I would imagine they would not want to keep going through this misunderstanding of what was actually being sold and want to avoid this situation in the future.

Do NOT remove the feedback until you have your refund.
Your only power at this point, since there is nothing to ship or to return, is that FB.
And your seller has already shown that they are unwilling to compromise on something that would have cost them nothing (Cancelled for Buyer Request means they get any fees back and no Defects.)
I am old and grumpy.
BTW, in addition to eBay's Money Back Guarantee, which I do not think applies here, you are covered by Paypal's Buyer Protection if you used that anonymizing service, and by the chargeback provisions of the credit card you really paid with.
