Although some will disagree, I think that the cleaner and less clutter that your listing has, the easier it is to read. If you want to add more pics you can add them to your gallery picture.
If you do want to add pictures and other things to your description area you can use html or ask someone to set up a basic template for you. I believe that ebay also has a choice of listing frames but they are .10 for each use which seems overpriced. You can also get listing frames from the internet or from a company like Auctiva if you use them to list your items.
On some mobile devices the user only sees the top area including the item specifics unless they specifically click on something to see the description area. I suspect that many of those users don't ever look at that bottom half of a listing.
