Ok I never had a digital cam only the old VHS tape camcorder I need advice what is best to go with for digital cam Like Samsung or Canon thanks since the new tvs are out with hdmi will the camcorders still work or no:

Look at the technical specifications.

Pick a digital camcorder model that has an hdmi connector if your TV requires hdmi input.

I think nowadays you'd have a hard job finding a digital camera or camcorder that was not more capable than the average user, all the main makes are fine, some have features that in practice you'll never use so it may be a waste of money paying for anything but basics.

Nowadays the average smartphone is as capable as a dedicated camera 10 years ago.
