Does ebay automatically invoice, or does seller get a chance to review and edit it if necessary?

I am new to selling. Calculated shipping came up higher than necessary, not sure how to change it. Can I just get buyers to contact me about shipping and just adjust it on invoice? if so how do I make sure invoice isn't automatically sent?

Selling for first time and noticed the shipping cost is ridiculously high for the item being shipped. I must have picked the wrong option. Can I change the shipping options on an item after it has been posted? thanks!
