To the eBay Canada seller community,

This announcement board is a place to access timely updates that impact your experience with eBay Canada. Today, I’m here due to recent events that are impossible to ignore.

Like all of you, our team is grappling with stories and images from cities across the U.S. that shine a spotlight on injustice and a legacy of racism. While the situation in the States is capturing hearts and minds, and for good reason, we also saw people take to the streets in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver because racism is a big problem here, too.

I don’t pretend to know your circumstances or how you have been personally affected, but it is important to me that you know what eBay is doing in response to what is happening. This issue is too significant, and this moment is an opportunity to push for meaningful change.

I encourage you to read this blog post from Jordan Sweetnam, SVP and General Manager, eBay North America that includes a message from our CEO, Jamie Iannone, to eBay employees globally and details eBay’s participation in a music industry-led initiate – “Blackout Tuesday” – that will see all fees in the music category on eBay.com, for June 2, donated to a charity to strives for equality in America.

With continued thanks and sincere best wishes during a difficult time,

Rob
