One has to leave it to eBay management when it come to ways of making sellers part with money 🙂

Most definitely and do not expect an honest or candid answer from eBay. They do not know how. 😞

I have been puzzled by the exact same thing. With some keywords I am the only result, but paying 7 or 8 cents.
The more we look at this the more confusing it gets.
There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to much of it.

After reactivating the campaigns, sales rose aprx 5% in one week.
This may not sound like much but it still works out to $600-700/month in additional sales; for something that costs a buck or two per day.
I am of the opinion that, for us, there is an advantage.

Use eBay AdCommerce to promote your off-eBay store and drive traffic to your own site. Sign up for this exclusive Canada-only program!
You've been invited to participate in a special pilot program which will allow certain sellers to promote their own websites (in addition to their eBay stores and listings) in their eBay.ca AdCommerce ads.
By participating in the pilot, you'll have the power to send buyers to the best possible landing page to maximize your sales!
This pilot is open to a limited number of Canadian PowerSellers who have been invited via email - if you have not received an email invitation, you will not be able to participate in the pilot program.

I got that email too together with $50 coupon.
I ditched AdCommerce 2-3 days after starting using it.
Sounds like VistaPrint.ca, the longer you hesitate, the better price you get. When you want the best price from VistaPrint, close the browser and come back, the price can drop as much as 80% 🙂

I don't know if that has anything to do with pausing the campaigns but I doubt it. Were just darn popular;-)
I subscribed just to get more info but doubt that I will participate beyond the $50 credit as our sales to Canada are less than 2% and the other 98% of buyers are probably not logging into .ca to look for our product.

Thank you. Nothing to lose - I applied!
We'll see what happens.
I already have a campaign on eBay.ca; so far this month 10 hits only in 15 days out of 7,287 impressions. Considering the total of impressions for my campaigns exceeds 1,500,000 on the other sites (mostly .com and .uk), eBay.ca is obviously not a very popular destination in the 'stamps' categories and sub-categories.

You can have mine, too, Pierre - I haven't got my website up and running yet.
From the looks of it, it'll be MONTHS until I manage it.X-( -------------------------------------------------------------------

It may explain why my campaigns were not so popular, I think I only enabled .CA and then watched wth envy and frustration how you guys spoke about thousands of hits and I had 4 😄
Perhaps I will give it a second look and spend the $50 credit.
Btw. there are better ways of advertising own website to eBay visitors without violating terms, we discussed them before.
I am currently spending approx $20/day in 3,5,7 day auctions/bin combos and it brings 3-4k more in sales. It seems like a much more expensive advertising model, but very scalable - i.e. more marketing money down eBay drain = more sales.

I am glad it works for you.
Tried it years ago in "Stamps" without success.

Yikes!
I assumed you were running yours on .com as well. Impression distribution for current month is:
USA: 74%
UK: 17%
Germany: 9%
Canada: .006%
France: 0%
Australia: 0%
So, yeah, .com is definitely the target market. Don't forget that many buyers go through .com even if their account is registered in another country.

Plus, I suspect that a larger percentage of people see the ads on .com than on .ca. I have seen ebay seller ads on com but have seen only off site ads on .ca.

Great, but no instructions on how to proceed. When I try this under our regular account, I get the message "destination URL not allowed"

I have two identical AdCommerce campaigns (eBay.COM and eBay.UK) using one specific keyword expression referring to the item for sale. Both link to my eBay store homepage where I placed the auction listing in a promotional box on top!
I will be monitoring impressions, clicks, watchers and bids daily. We'll see in ten days if the effort was worth it.

It seems that linking to your home page all the time counts as repetition for Google and the 'bots ignore it and can actually penalize you for it.
So some people in the business suggest that you link to pages WITHIN your website ( store, in this case). Ap[parently Google 'bots treat these as new links and it raises your search visibility.
I'm not sure how well this works in an internal ebay system search, or how well it will work for the google 'bots, but it might be worth a shot. -------------------------------------------------------------------
