All Pinks Day: Tuesday, November 15 -- Game Thread

Hi everyone,

The first All Pinks Day on eBay.ca will be held on Tuesday, November 15 and the Canada Town Square was selected to host all of the Pinks so you all can get to know us a little better. To add some fun we will be playing a game throughout the day, so expect members from other boards to visit.

There will be different Pinks posting to this thread during the day. Each Pink will ask a few questions about the areas of eBay they are connected to and the first person who gives the correct answer to the question will receive a prize. (limit two prizes per person)

This thread will be reserved for the game only and no disruption of it will be permitted.

Read everything available re stores on the site, and visit the stores board on .com

And definetly be involved in the discussion groups on Ebay. BIG help. You may want to lurk on there for awhile to get pointers and tips plus pitfall insurance. Endsong

stores board, I didn't know that. I'm big on designer children's clothes, but I can't seem to find a good wholesaler or where to get inventory. It's tough!

There's a lot of stuff in the EBay stores you can do, definetly check it all out and know your budget. I use the Basic store and still checking out the cross promotions, feeds, etc.

A lot to look through.

Very bad shade of green.

As for running a store, definetly a bonus over selling as an individual. Aside from it giving you a quasi bricks and motar feel, you also show that you are investing time in selling and not just a fly-by-night to your customers.
Plus the extra EBay tools are a big help.

One thing though.. you will need patience when you sell, the waiting game is a pain even at 2c/item for buyers to come out or the item to get near the auction deadline after 29 days. Using lures or putting up small items out to the auction helps, but it takes time to build a clientle. Endsong

One other thing I have found being a storefront is that friends have started coming out of the woodwork to have me sell online for them, kinda like an el cheapo Zold store.

I don't mind, I just put it up for them and treat it as my item and they as a supplier. I like to keep friends and business seperate so I don't lose friends. Endsong

Yeah, i invested in the seller sourcebook cause it looks nicer and gives the impression that I am investing in this a bit more. Just to list quite a few things, I was wondering if a store is better because of the fees involved with individual listings.
