Recently had problems as a commercial importer at the border while attempting to import items purchased on Ebay, back into Canada. According to the CBSA, the min requirement for importing goods back into Canada requires an invoice with the sellers information: name/address/zip. I tried explaining to the CBSA that the checkout invoices supplied by ebay exclude all this information. The only information provided is the buyer's complete info along with the seller user name. The CBSA advised that ebay should look at revising their policies. Long and short of it, I almost had my entire load seized at the border.
I understand eBay's position with respect to keeping member information private. Question is this: Why would ebay exclude the selling vendor's information on the checkout invoices after purchase completion? Any plans on revising checkout information policy?
As the CBSA indicated, anyone planning on importing items into Canada (especially items purchased on Ebay) will now require invoices providing the selling vendor's information so that the completed B3 forms correspond to the attached checkout invoices.
Look forward to your response and or comments/suggestions.

There are som changes in Canadian postcard categories. No instead of optopn to list postcard in Province subcategory we have only one category,-Canada.
As per ebay "Category, item specifics, and catalog updates will be released this spring to provide a more intuitive buying, selling, and search experience. These updates will also increase item visibility, eliminate redundancies, and improve the overall shopping experience on eBay."
Can you please explain how having only one category for whole Canada will improve search experience as well as shoppong experience ?????
I would say exact opposite, search will takes longer, unless a potential buyer looking for something very particular, as a result it will decrease in sales ,as for shopping experience, for sure it will be not the best one.
While some other sites provides with wider range of subcategories.ebay is shinks.
What was a reason to eliminate all subcategories in Canada postcards section ???
Hi raanana,
Historically, we have managed our 10's of thousands of categories based on need. Adding too much structure to categories actually does not help buyers find the items they are looking for. When enough goods are available in a category is when we subdivide into more categories. Until then, buyers can and do find thinks using keyword search.
Currently, there isn't enough postcards in the category to merit subdivision.

Hi shanstat,
Thank you for reporting this issue to us. I don't have any comments to make on this at this time, other than I'll take this back to my team and will initiate the necessary discussions to ensure eBay continues to enable sellers and buyers to comply with CBSA's cross-border rules.
