Be very careful with any credit card on file. They deactivated mine with no notice!

If you have a credit card on file with Paypal, check it regularly and carefully.

I tried to pay for something through Paypal with my credit card and it came back deactivated unable to use.

I called Paypal and was told a transaction went through my credit card by paypal and it was a risk so they deactivated and removed my card.

I asked why no notice they said I should have got an email. There was also no alert on my account and never received an email.

They are investigating as I am not a happy about their lack of security.

I then called my credit card company and found out a transaction had gone through on 10/10 so I reported as unauthorized, they have opened a fraud investigation and are sending me a new card.

If I would not have tried to use my card and found about a problem, this would have gone undetected until I got my next statement from VISA and who knows what else would have gone through my credit card.

Paypal seems to be very lax in these issues as far as I am concerned and in my opinion have become very untrustworthy.

Yet Ebay is going to only accept them as a payment processor which also concerns me now.

Here is the ridiculous response I received from Paypal. Do they even live in the real world.

Dear ------------,

Good morning! This is Nathan with PayPal Support and I have received a response from our developer team in response to the ticket I submitted up to them.

They advised me that because the card was removed due to a security issue, for your protection in case someone was using it fraudulently we did not send notification that the card was unusable.  Again, this was for your protection, lest it was being used fraudulently.  As if we had sent an email, this would of notified the fraudster.

Thank you for your understanding in this issue, have a great rest of your day!

Sincerely,
Nathan
