Hi guys, I've been selling swimwear since December and it's been great. The last 2 weeks have been really quiet and I'm getting worried.I've never seen it this quiet. I'm thinking of closing my store and reopening it again when the season picks up again. Does anyone know when swimwear will pick up again? I sell mostly to the US.

Finally! I was beginning to lose hope...corkibaby is someone who's catching on.

As for the summer being slow, I've lived in Florida and more and more all over the place these days people spend as much time indoors in AC beating the heat and hence on their computers than ever before. The summer is not slow, as I said earlier in this thread there is no slow time.

And now for the US dollar...have you (I speak in general) raised your prices due to the low US dollar (or high Canadian dollar)? If not, then why would that affect your sales? If prices are the same then US buyers money goes as far as it did a year ago for them. At the same time, Canadian dollars as well as foreign currencies are going a lot farther than they ever have which means there is all the more Canadian and foreign customers to benefit from. Bottom line the currencies values are not affecting business in reality either.

Oh and as I said, I have family in Florida. The average American living a normal life has no idea his/her currency has lost value on the global currency market. The only ones that are aware are those in the import/export business. That's what Canadians don't realize. Sure here we're all over it because our dollar goes farther in the US now and for some reason we think the Americans care and are aware. They aren't and don't.

Sales last month were terrible compared to the rest of this year...when I ran comparative reports though I ended up doing the same amount as last September (but this year I gradually phased out all of my electronics items which usually start selling well around now). Maybe it's cuz the kids are back in school and have had less time to persuade their parents to buy things on eBay for them 😞

I agree with Zaruzella though that I did notice sales in September have been coming in Spurts, I guess I picked the right month for my Vacation this time!

I'd say enjoy the quiet before the storm, Xmas season is on it's way!
