CP, USPS, Paypal postage

Ran into an odd one today. Went to print a label and could not because "postal code and province mismatch". Label speak for the zip code and the state do not match.

96951 Rota MP

MP is short for Northern Marianas Islands. A wee bit north of Guam. Right as rain with USPS. CP does not recognize "MP". On the phone and the lady was stumped. Expedited works fine with the Zip Code.

It was a big enough sale that the $5 extra was not an issue.

This will probably never happen agian, but, "what if"? How can I save myself $5?

I don't understand that. Canada Post's Destination and Origin Zone page for Expedited Parcel USA shows MP as the code for the Northern Mariana Islands.
