Canada Post tracking now working, down for two days.

Is anyone else getting a message saying the Canada post tracking page is down? Been trying to track something for two days. My daughter is also trying to track a package and the mobile app showed a scan Sunday just before midnight but the strange thing is it was 8:01 Sunday evening when she checked the app and saw the scan. Scan was in the same province as we live so how does a package get a scan time stamp four hours before it is the time it shows it was scanned? Starting to wonder what is going on with Canada Post.

Tracking worked for me as usual over the weekend.

One thing I have noticed lately is that scan entries are often not in sequential order. It leads me to suspect that CPC is tinkering with web programming behind the scenes. If there is a planned outage, they announce it on their twitter page. I check that when I start to see a lot of oddity.

It say "down for maintenance" when I try to track something. I also wanted to complete my profile for my Small business acount, but that part is in maintenance too.

Tracking is a Seller Protection.

The real question is:

Is your shipment past the last estimated delivery date that eBay gave you ?

If it is go to the Resolution Centre at the bottom of this page.

Open an Item Not Received dispute.

The first suggestion is to contact the seller.

You want one of only two things from the seller -- a useable tracking number (which you already have) that shows the item is in Canada OR a refund.

Do NOT accept an offer of a replacement. It won't arrive either.

If the seller does not provide a refund, ask eBay to step in and escalate to a Claim.

If the seller cannot prove to eBay that the item has been delivered (not shipped, delivered) you will be refunded.

All that tracking does for a buyer is give her the warm fuzzies.

If you are not home when the carrier arrives, you will get a Notice telling you where and when you can pick up your shipment.

Canada Post (start point) and the USPS (delivery end) do not read the ebay forums.

www.canadapost.ca and www.usps.com tracking both show the package as delivered.
