Just got my Ebay bill for Dec, which will be automatically taken from my bank account on Jan 21. There is a little note attached saying that beginning in Feb the payment will be taken 15 days after the bill, rather than the current 21 days. Ebay keeps making wee changes that are a pain in the backside.

No sooner than I posted this I then got notice that Ad Commerce is ending . I had ads in Great Britain and Australia. I liked the program although it was( is?) hard for an old fogey like me to understand, but it was cheap advertising and publicity for my business.

21...? 15...?
I suppose, You have special privilegies...? 😉
here what I get since 10 years:
You have set up automatic payments using a credit card. Your invoice amount will be charged to your credit card automatically within the next 5 to 7 days. The amount deducted may vary based on recent payments or credits.

I have this:
"You have set up PayPal as your automatic payment method. Your invoice amount will be automatically deducted from your PayPal account no sooner than 10 days after the invoice date. The amount deducted may vary based on recent payments or credits."
Funny, eh...?

Years ago I signed up to have the Ebay bill taken from my US$(in the US) bank account. As I recall at the time it would sometimes take a month or more for the bill to come through. About the time that the bill started coming from Switzerland, or a Swiss Ebay company, the time changed to 21 days.
Depending on when you have to pay your credit card you might have more than 21 days before you actually have to pay anybody anything.

My dementia hindered memory is not that good any more, but I think when I opted for direct debit from my Bank account there was something being offered by eBay to encourage direct debit. I also think that it was done before there was an Ebay Canada but again its been a long time.

"to encourage direct debit."
It is a lot cheaper for eBay to debit your bank account (no fee to eBay) than to charge your credit card (eBay must pay processing fees of appx 1.3-1.5%).
I have always used my US dollar denominated credit card (BMO Mastercard) to pay my monthly fees. I earn AirMiles on my credit card and get an extra month cash flow. With fees averaging more than US$1,000 a month, every little bit helps.
The credit card is usually billed 12 to 18 days after the end of the billing period.
